Not in a NFZ, no NOTAM, nothing on Drone Assist. This is G-BIGB parked up for the weekend, between flights over Kinder.
Apparently it's a Bell 212 from Heli Lifting Services, deployed to distribute re-wilding materials over the Kinder Plateau.

You wouldn't want to be CHOPPEd up by it ;-)

I think they're fairly gentle with them. And the area of activity is usually cordoned off.

We saw loads of them up the top of Old Man Coniston,  and they really looked like they had been dropped,   based on the splitting of the bags.

On Kinder they're replanting/re-wilding with grasses and seeding, I'm told.

It's been dull the last couple of days - and raining this afternoon.
But I did get a flight over a nearby reservoir yesterday to film the yachts.

The last two days here were almost perfect (except for the ungodly humidity).  Today started off with a major thunderstorm and is supposed to hang around until mid-afternoon.  No doubt this ruined a lot of people's outdoor plans for the Labor Day holiday today.  

Labor Day quote:  “There is more to life than making a living. Do not work more than you live.”

That happens to me sometimes - happily flying in unrestricted air space then a chopper comes in for landing nearby. Annoying.

It wasn't an issue for my flight, as it was parked up and unattended. I was just surprised to see it there.

In my case the hotel in the middle of nowhere had a landing pad and the thing came in - I landed while it did just to be safe but you plan these locations then that happens lol At least yours was grounded from the outset and you were able to get a good shot of it too

I've never been in one, so if the pilot had been there I might have cadged a lift to the hilltop

It's interesting if you are an adrenaline junkie. You get to help people in emergency situations. It's very rewarding but tiring.
