Fort Monmouth Supercut. Overview of a 3 mile by 1 mile swath of Fort Monmouth.

That was some really prime real estate to use for an Army base.  The views there are splendid.  Will be interesting how they split up the remaining 800+ acres after the 300 acre mega parcel sold to Netflix.

That was the hardest part of the job. One of the flights they wanted was 3.5 miles long. I had to break it up to be safe.

For sure that would be a long single-take.
I tried something similar with my old Phantom4 back in 2017.
Back when I was new to the hobby, and out in open countryside.
Me as a passenger in the car with the RC whilst Mrs.B drove.
I managed to keep the drone in view (most) of the time. In case of loss of contact and RTH being activated, I had it set to Hover in Place.
With the tighter rules today I doubt it would be worth trying.

Here we can't fly while in a moving vehicle and we have to have visual line of site. I would imagine that was stressful.

There is nothing scarier than losing a signal and not being sure what the drone will do.

I've had that scenario a few times (as I guess you have too)
Fortunately, I never lost a drone (so far)

I am thankful that I have never lost one either, in over 1,400 flights.

No doubt. I would feel like I lost a family member if I lost my drone. It's what's stopping me from Trying FPV.

I almost bought one last month, but common-sense prevailed in the end.
I may upgrade from the Mini3Pro to the 4 instead.

That's exactly my debate  Avata 2 or Mavic mini 5. Here You can get a waiver to fly over people with the mini 3, 4 or 5. I would like the avata for indoor real estate or the mini4 or 5 for events over people. I need to make a choice but I'm stuck.

I'm not sure whether the Mini5Pro will ever see the light of day. DirtyBird puts forward some valid observations as to what little might be done to improve the Mini4Pro without compromising the weight restriction. I'd be happy with a 4 to replace my ageing 3.

With an empty drawing board coming up it's always nice to have a few leads that hopefully will come to fruition.

Never heard that one and i wonder if i ever burned ash. Probably not.

Probably not as Ash has a very short growing period in most cold climates.  Also, every year there is a significant decline in the number of Ash trees.
