Hi all,
I have a DJI Mic set (2 transmitters and a receiver in a cradle). Everytime I use the mic regardless if alone or with a Rode lavalier plugged into it, the volume comes out very low. The gain on the transmitter is set to the maximum and when using it withour the lavalier it is a little bit better, around -19 to -18, but that is still very very low, and requiress so much boosting in post (and thus noise reduction then). What am I doing wrong? I can't imagine that this is normal behaviour of the product.

Here is a sample (recorder without the lavalier, at about 15 cm from the speaker's mouth - on her collar): https://file.io/HILxMgNYMBHU

Thanks

The argument is that it's 32bit float so it doesn't matter. In reality it's a proper pain in the ass, especially when using a transmitter on its own. I don't why DJI didn't come up with a way, perhaps a config file, to change the transmitter setting.

Yes. The internal recording waveform is very low. Depending on the sensitivity of the external mic, it might be lower, or higher, however. What I do is load the WAV into Audition or Audacity and 'loudness normalise' to -23 LUFS. That should then give you a decent waveform to load into your video editor.

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out. Try the troubleshooting steps below if you are using transmitter for recording alone:
1) Place the transmitter close to the sound source.
2) When using the receiver for monitoring, increase the transmitter gain gradually.
3) Compare the performance of another transmitter under the same gain settings. If the volume of either transmitter is significantly lower, please proceed to send for REPAIR for further diagnosis by our engineering team.

I hope this information has helped to clarify your inquiries. If you have any other questions, kindly let us know. Thank You!

Yes, of course. That is exactly what I did. I managed to boost it and clear the noise in Audition, but I would have preferred not to have to go through that...

Hey Gamora,
If you read my original post, you will see that I have already addressed your points 1 and 2.
Regarding 3, yes, I do have two transmitters in the set, and they both behave the same. And now that I started looking into this, it seems all the people are complaining from the same problem, so your response is.. well... Thank you anyways.

It seems there isn't much to be done. At some point I'll have to buy something better.

Cheers!
