I used my DJI Osmo Pocket 3 to record my visit to a spartan cabin for hikers on the island Sørøya in Northern Norway. The cabin is called Sørværgammen (Sørvær bothy) after the builder who came from the village Sørvær on the coast, but it is also called NATO-gammen because the military provided some assistance and material when it was built a long time ago. The cabin offers basics amenities for hikers such as a fireplace for warmth and cooking, beds to sleep on and an outhouse. Water is taken from streams some distance from the cabin in summer and in winter snow is melted. There is also a little guest book where passing hikers can write down greetings.
The cabin is located on the new hiking trail that takes you across the island from Hasvik in the South and to Tarhalsen in the North. This is a marked 100 km long trail that takes you through a beautiful and wild Arctic landscape. This is a place far from the madding crowd and you will not be sorry for visiting! I hope you will enjoy this visit to a cabin in the wilderness in the north!
Interesting footage. The cabin might be a bit spartan but when it comes to survival it definitely meets all the needs. The views at that location are incredible.
