Hi all,
As I mentioned in my first  question here. I am really new in drones as well as controllers.
So my question is that which one is easier to fly a NEO as a controller, its controller in fly more combo (RC-N3) or DJI RC Motion 3.
I do not have budget/and intent to buy a goggle like an fpv pilot. My only aim is to make it fly easier. And also having controls like return to home and changing camera settings etc.does   DJI RC Motion 3 enables user to change camera settings and does it support RTH without goggles.
thanks in advance.
Regards.

You need the Goggles3 to use either the MC3 or FPV RC3.  The Goggles3 is the rc transmitter.  Input from either controller passes through the Goggles3.  Which then transmits the input to the drone.

Your choice for other controllers will be limited to the ones listed as "compatible" at the DJI website.

Hi there,
thank you for reaching out.

According to the information provided, when operating the DJI Neo with either the DJI RC Motion 3 or the DJI FPV Remote Controller 3, the use of DJI Goggles 3 is necessary.

Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.

Interesting.  I've seen the Captain Drone guy on YouTube flying an Avata 2 with the Motion 3 controller without the Goggles.  He used his cell phone for the visuals.  Seems to me this might be possible on the Neo.  I just ordered the Motion 3 controller (waiting for the N3 Goggles....) and will test this theory out and let you know.

I was wondering something similar. If you use the neo with just the phone app it's just on WiFi so your range is 50m I believe so if you use the neo with lets say the goggles N3 and motion controller will the range be greater ?
Dose the DJI goggles then act like a ground station sending and receiving video and control inputs ?

Yes, the Goggles 3 and N3 are your "ground station".  One reason why the FPV RC3 and MC3 have relatively long use per full charge.  Not much power required to transmit from them to the Goggles 3.
MC3 charged to full lasts for many hours of use.  FPV RC3, after 6 flight batteries(~60minutes) still had plenty of capacity left in the battery.   Goggles3 was IIRC, low 50% capacity.
Distance if clear line of site will be beyond VLOS using the Goggles3. N3 uses the same or similar 2T4R (2 transmit, 4 receiving)antenna system. I think also the N3 if set to auto channel option switches frequency to the strongest available.

Ok great thanks for the explanation im used to using a radio link and a separate fpv link as I used to fly fpv back in the day around 8 years ago so I'm catching up with how technology has progressed.
So dose this mean the goggles are transmitting the video and control signal to the neo while the motion controller is just interacting with the goggles?

Yes. The Goggles 3 and now N3 is unique and different system.  Hopefully more models and hardware to be released compatible with the system. Considering 04 Lite for the electric launch sailplanes if I can use the Goggles 3 just as a video rx.

Similar background.  FAA registration expired back in 2018.  Took the TRUST test, re-registered with the FAA, picked up a modular RID for the ancient +249gm UAS platforms. Purchased a new ELRS/Edge Tx controller and a couple analog quads.  Decided to give DJI a go. Something I never thought would happen. But sort of done with the modeling aspect of this hobby.  Tech has really evolved since '18.
