DJI Mic 2 no sound

Hello,

Today I was in a shoot and when I was setting up I realized my DJI Mic 2 was not capturing sound. I thought it might be a bug and that it was in fact recording internally but when I connected to my computer all the audio files were muted, they had no sound.

You can see by the video that I've attached that it captures sound for 2/3 seconds and then *Puff* no more sound.

Hoping this is something I can fix at home and not have to send it to DJI...

Thanks for your help!

Have you tried plugging a lav mic into the transmitter to see if there is a change in behaviour? I would also charge the transmitter & eliminate  potential any low battery..

Hello everyone,

maybe someone here has a solution.

I’m using the Mic 2 and connecting the receiver to my Sony Alpha 7R III via the supplied 3.5mm jack cable. The transmitter is also on and connected. The audio level indicator on both Mic 2 devices reliably shows the audio signal. However, the camera isn’t recording any sound from the Mic 2. The video file ends up without any audio information.

When I record directly with the transmitter (red LED), I can later load the audio file from the transmitter via USB, but I have to perfectly align it with the video track.
When I connect the receiver to my iPhone via Lightning, audio recording works perfectly. Video and audio are saved together in the file.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? Without the Mic 2 connected, the Sony immediately starts recording audio.

Double check the cable , make sure it is a TRS to TRS cable,  or try a  different trs to trs cable.  Possible it is a connection  then the  mic 2 TX to Rx to camera

It is the original cable from the MIC 2

I have no other cable here. Still wonder why the original cable seems not to work...

Have to look for an other one. Hope it will do the job then.
That’s quite an embarrassment for DJI if the cable really is the cause.

trouble shooting is to figure out the issue:

DJI  TRS to TRS cable;  have anything  like an output to plug the 3.5mm cable to and then plug to the Rx.  and  adjust LOW the volume and  see if it   shows on the Rx if does that proves the cable works

So even with a new TRS to TRS mikrofon cable it doesn't work.
There is no audio recording from the DJI 2 mic to the Rx on the Sony.
The level on the receiver is showing signal – everything seems to be working. But no audio from the Mic 2 is being recorded in the video file.

As a last resort, did you write your settings down and factory reset the unit, and  tried Pair linking to tx2?  if all fails then DJI should step in, you will have to get to dji refresh care here    at the dji store and contact them

I've also tried resetting to factory settings, but it hasn't fixed the issue. I actually thought DJI was monitoring the threads in this forum.

Did you try a different input to the camera? You're assuming it is the Mic 2, when your camera could be the problem. Differential analysis is required!

Try plugging another audio source into the camera. Does that work?

Hello everyone,

maybe someone here has a solution.

I've got the same issue with my dji mic 2, and I tried with the dji mic 1 cable, and with another camera too, it's not working.
I'll try the firmware update if it changes anything
