Goggles 3: No screen, not charging

I have recieved a pair of DJI Goggles 3. I do not yet have a drone to link to... I was not aware they only connect to specific drones. I want to test these and make sure they work. They are at half power ( based on the lights ). When powered on, the screen is dark. There is no menu or other information. Additionally, plugging them into my computer does not start them charging. ( lights remain dark, no charging indicator ).

I started the activation process, but it requires me to have the drone, which I do not yet have.


Do these two issues ( no screen / no charging ) indicate a problem with the goggles?

We recommend you try press the power button once to check the current battery level.
Note: press once, then press and hold for two seconds to power the goggles on or off.

Alternatively, you could provide the operational video of your goggles for further examination.
Please keep us updated on the progress!

Hi there,
thank you for reaching out.

I can press once to display current battery level ( 2 solid, 1 blinking ). They are plugged into USB and that has not changed in the last several hours. The number of green dots has not changed.


EDIT: Battery is now charging. Instead of using the attached cord, I connected directly from my computer to the goggles. I now see green lights appearing to charge.


EDIT: The screen is no longer dark, I understand now that the goggles must be worn to display screen. I am now able to see goggles have dropped from 47% charge to 40% charge.
