I wonder if it would be possible in a future update if users would be able to change the distance and height parameters for quick shots right from the drone itself instead of doing it thru the app on the phone.

Are you referring to the Dji Neo and Flip?
I see what you mean, but I don't think that will ever be possible
the only button actions are click and hold,
perhaps could be added with 2 or 3 clicks, but that's too confusing to manage
