Hi all !
I share with you a small test/edit of underwater landscapes in Kalymnos, Greece from this summer.

I'm interested to have some feedbacks about the stabilization settings, any advices ? I have used RockSteady, 4k, 30fps, but for me it is not very stable under the water. The camera was mounted on a stick (about 40cm long).

Any advices too concerning the color corection for underwater shoot ?

Thanks and enjoy :-)

In my opinion you are moving too fast, and on top too fast camera movements.
When I use the camera for scuba diving I have it mounted on a rig and hold it with two hands. My camera is on fixed white balance (5500K) and I adjust the white balance with DaVinci Resolve.

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. Nexy time i will focus on slow movement and perhaps use a rig as yoi say. Okay for the color i use fixed color temp too, quite complex to adjust in post prod, need some trainings

Hi Xavier1984,

Thank You for reaching out. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience you are experiencing. The color temperature sensor is located at the letter “O” on the Osmo Action 5 Pro nameplate. Do not cover the letter “O” when holding the camera. When using with Osmo Action 60m Waterproof Case, the color temperature sensor can function normally.
I. The main reasons for inability to support the EIS function are as follows:
To ensure that the limited computing power can be used for image decoding, the DJI Osmo Action series devices will limit the EIS function (which cannot be enabled or only RockSteady can be enabled).
II. Apart from the above reasons, the inability to enable the EIS function in non-video mode is also attributed to the following factors:
1. In Slow Motion mode, a video is recorded with a high frame rate but displayed with a low frame rate. As such, when the final video is played, slow playing will enrich the details and smoothen the connection of each frame. The video shaking due to handheld inability will become less significant. As such, no additional electronic stabilization is required.
2. In Timelapse mode, the device is placed in a static status and does not involve motion video. As such, no additional electronic stabilization is required.
3. In Hyperlapse mode, the EIS function is enabled by default, and EIS function setting is not required.

Please try again with the provided steps above and if issue still persist, please let us know looking forward to your response for further assistance. Thank You

Hello,
Thank you for your answer. I'm not especially complain about the product. I fixed the WB to manually so the "issue" comes only from my knowledge in post-production ;-) Concerning image stabilization, I think that underwater the process is more complex especially if the device use gyroscopics function. But again it is on my side to improbe my underwater shoot (where I'm really not an experienced user)

:-)
