Keeping the DJI Osmo Action 4 Cool During Tennis Match Recordings
Hi everyone,
I recently used my DJI Osmo Action 4 to film my son’s tennis match, mounting the camera on the fence for a full-court view. Unfortunately, after about 22 minutes of recording in the sun, the camera overheated and shut down. To make matters worse, it was the best tennis he’s played all year, and I missed the rest of the match!
To try and prevent this from happening again, I’ve purchased a small umbrella to shade the camera, but I’m curious how others manage to keep their systems cool during long outdoor recordings in hot conditions.
Does anyone have additional tips or setups that have worked for them? Are there specific mounts, cooling accessories, or tricks to improve airflow or prevent overheating?
I’d appreciate any advice to ensure I can capture full matches without interruptions in the future. Thanks in advance!

For everyday recording, it's recommended to use 1080p at 30fps. This setting not only reduces heat generation but also saves storage space and simplifies editing, aligning with the mainstream video format used online.
