A small spot of flooding....


With the snow forecast changing to rain here over night,    lots of local roads have some minor flooding,   and the local supermarket has had to close due to the carpark on the roof flooding the store.

The building you cant quite see in the bottom left corner is a pump house thats supposed to keep up with it.     It's always wet there at high tide as the sea water seeps up through the tarmac.  

We have those spots too here in NL.

Interesting shot.    Water always seeks the lowest spot to pool and they found it.  In a couple of the really low spots here that tend to flood after heavy rains they have a yellow depth gauge mounted on the right side of the roadway so motorists can gauge if it is too deep for their car to drive through safely.  Of course, If it gets to a certain depth they just block off the road.  

Looks like you can stay dry by using the raised pavement on the right

I have to revise my route during heavy rain as the large puddles in the road become a hazard from cars passing.

Oddly that stayed flooded all day,  but this morning it was clear again.

I had to walk down the hill to drop off a parcel at the shipping shop,  when I got back SWMBOd was quitting why Id been so long,  she hadnt realised on Sunday I have to go further for one thats open,  she then moaned I hadnt taken her for a walk (after she refused earlier) so we walked back down the hill and this was still flooded,   today is was clear.
