i dont know if there is a thread for this, im new here.

anyway, is it just me, or the 'return to home' function should be based on the location of the remote, than to the location of the take off...

or maybe there is this option to return to home, or return to 'master' maybe



one time i was shooting a video of me driving and the drone follows me, and it's like low battery, returning home in 10s... and it start going back to where we was before. and i have to stop it, manually land it to where i am currently at. or is there a setting to do this?

I have a small issue, and maybe someone has experienced something similar and could help me with some advice/solution.

I have a DJI MINI SE drone that I've had for almost 3 years now. I've used it quite rarely, mostly during vacations. From what I remember, everything was fine the last time I used it in November 2023

However, two weeks ago, I went on vacation, and in several places on the island, whenever I flew the drone, it lost signal after 50-100 meters. The last time, I only flew it vertically, and at 110 meters, it completely lost the signal and returned home.

I returned to my country (thinking it might have been because I was on an island), but yesterday, even in the countryside (not in or near a city), I encountered the same issue. I think it went up to 120-130 meters before it completely lost the signal.

I should mention that from 40-50 meters, I start getting this message

Thank you for reaching out. We're sorry to hear about the signal issues you're experiencing with your DJI MINI SE. We recommend updating the drone to the latest firmware version. After updating, try flying in an open outdoor area with minimal wireless interference. This might help improve the signal stability.

You can update the home position at any time based on the controllers new location.

You can update the Home Point manually via the DJI Fly App:
1. Go to Camera View. Tap “Settings” in the top-right corner. Go to the “Safety” page and tap “Update Home Point”.
2. There are three ways to update the Home Point:
(1) Tap “OK” directly to update the Home Point to the current aircraft position.
(2) Tap the remote controller icon in the top-right corner and then tap “OK” to update the Home Point to the mobile device position. (Be sure that the mobile phone has a strong GPS signal.)
(3) Drag the Home Point to any position. Tap “OK” to update the Home Point to the dragged position.Thanks for your understanding.

thanks for the info, i already tried searching on youtube about this. i have the rc2... so basically, you always have to be aware to update your home point whenever you're moving. my first flight was nerve-racking, because i tried the follow me feature. and then, the autoRTH due to low battery was triggered... and i was expecting it to come near me... but instead, i flew away... and i was like, OMG, wait!! come back!! LOL.

what i did was to pause RTH and manually land the drone near me.

i think it will take more time to go through tabs and menus just to update home point, i hope there is a quickbutton or something. say like if we hold the return to home button, it should automatically update Home Point (controllers location). the drone might land on it's current position if the default Homepoint update is at the drone's location.
