The Neo user manual says not to fly over water and not to launch drone a moving object.

Why does the promo video feature filming wakeboarding and flying from a paddle board?

Does DJI think this is reasonable advertising?

These videos were shot in FPV manual mode, where the low-quality sensors don't go crazy.

It's never advised to fly over water because of the sensors.
But you can if you pay attention .

Reading the manual it says;

The vison system may not work if flying over water.       What does that actually mean when flying Quickshot / Mobile Phone / Controler or FPV (not Manual) ?

It says - Palm Control DO NOT fly over water

It says Mobile App Control DO NOT fly over water

It says Landing Protection.  Landing Protection may be triggered by mistake when flying over water.       What does that mean ?          Wil it try and land on water or will it NOT land on water. (You wouldn't want it to)

It says Vision System and IR Sensing Sytem -  The downward Vison Sensor may not work when flying over water.  It may not be able to actively avoid water when landing .     What does that mean.   Nobody would want it to land on water ?

It says the vision system cannot work properly when flying near water



There are a number of warnings but it is totally unclear what the real world consequences are..... especially when your promo video is showing carefree use over water.    The manual sounds like a safety blanket to cover any kind of bizarre behaviour from the NEO

Do your other drones behave so unpredictably near water ?

Relatively new to the DJI "ecosystem".   Flying UASs for over a decade.  DJI,  less than a year.  What I've noticed is DJI marketing promotes like most others the features of their products, but at times for some may gloss over the limitations.  Some DJI users have unrealistic expectations.  Net result are the "issues" that arise.
