Interesting find DA.    Jeven did a really informative review.  Unfortunately, I just don't see a need for this in my drone line-up.

I feel the same way,   Im hoping the Mini 5 is soon and comes with a camera improvement so warrant an upgrade for me.

O4 and waypoints are a given at this point as the Mini 4 has that already.

I took the avata out for a flight and felt the same,  and it was pretty grey and miserable.  No better today.

The whole camera + mic was wet when I came home.
But the footage turned out ok.
Considering it was pitch black outside.

PS.  Did you try reducing the exposure a bit.  I can't help "feel" its a bit over exposed.

Yup it did.
Must have looked weird to see a guy with a big tripod and camera at that time.

The second 2 shots have it dialed down a bit indeed.
The exposure meter was all the way to the left, but when headlights entered the frame, it sometimes blew out.
If I would have dialed it down further, I would have lost almost everything that was left until a car drove past, so it was a balancing act.

I am not sure how that would have helped. That would be for when there is a bright 'upper part' of the frame and dark 'lower part' of the frame right?

Id have fitted it upside so the dark part was at the bottom.

The people that drove past me were laughing too,  after they had hurled a bottle of water out of the window and hit me on the back of the head whilst crouching to take a shot of something on the grass verge.

Not on this camera though.
I don't have grad ND filters for this one and it's a bit of a PITA to put them on because you'll have to get rid of the matte box first to get to the rings.
I'll first try LOG and also accept this is over the limit of the dynamic range of this (still tiny) sensor.
If I want to get that super high dynamic range, I guess I'll have to start saving for the A7 something from Sony or a BlackMagic or Red camera

Can you not get a big one for the front of the matte box on that one?  Although they do cost more generally.

Not that I know. But could be.
I'm not going to get one, because I use it mostly inside anyway.
