FYI for those buying drones....Evidently as of recently, DJI is now not allowed to "bulk ship" the drones that we have ordered and we, as customers are now required to provide our personal information like name and SSN to Customs when it arrives in the USA, before it will be delivered. My Flip has been sitting in CA since Thursday evening, and now probably won't even be through customs until Tuesday becaus of the Monday holiday. I have relayed my total dissisfaction with this to DJI. We should have been told to expect this!
You will probably get a text from UPS stating that "the shipment is delayed and needs information for customs..."  This is not SPAM.

I received mine 2 days after ordered without any issue or delay. I’m in MT and mine shipped from HK.

This is what I was just told by DJ I support online. I tried calling UPS yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately their customer support had me on hold for two hours and then I was told they’re closed until Tuesday because of the holiday.

That’s awful. I must have been lucky and was very pleasantly surprised to receive it in 2 days given that it shipped from HK.

True, but DJI knew this, and they have not communicated this process to the buyers. It was a total surprise. This is NOT good!

From the posts on the forum about it since last October/November it seems like the process has been evolving and different depending on the route the parcel takes.

Just another reason to buy from a physical store in the US if they ever get the drone you want in stock.

My mini 4 pro order  was supposed to be shipped on 1/8 and is still saying the warehouse is processing my order. Not sure what is going on, but support just keeps saying they will expedite it and reach back out but no progress. A live chat agent even said that it would ship within g 24-48 hours on 1/14 and still no update. First drone from DJI so definitely a bit confused and disappointed.

I am beyond frustrated! Total silence from UPS since their customer support doesn't work the weekends or on holidays, and my package, though it has been in Ontario CA since 8 PM on Thursday, has not been even updated/scanned since 0100 on Saturday.

I got a friendly call earlier this morning from DJI stating that my order was delayed and will ship tomorrow. I thought that was fair. Originally it was to deliver tomorrow.

I totally understand the frustration, and I too was disappointed with the delay. Over the years I usually have ordered directly through the website, and aside from some of the bigger high-demand birds, the shipping estimates have been spot on.

We also have to keep in mind the current geopolitical tensions. Good luck to you and I hope we get out shipments very soon.

I am betting you are in same position as me with drone stuck in Ontario warehouse. In my case I received a letter from customs (delivered by UPS!) that told me it was in detention. There was a phone number and I was able to get a CBP person who essentially said it will be there until “someone in Washington” tells them ok to release it. Apparently the reason for detention is related to what they (CBP) think is the location of the DJI factory. But just reading this thread it seems this detention thing depends on where you are in the US?

That’s interesting. I asked DJI if they were going to resend it to please not send it to Ontario California. They said they had no choice in the matter. Many many people have had no issues so it must just be that particular customs office. Perhaps they need some better supervision!

Thank you. Please ask them to not send it via a route that will require it to go to Ontario California. That customs office is retaining anything that’s coming from China And DJI evidently. I’d really like to get my drone one of these days.

New twist, I just received an email from DJI saying that the shipping carrier says my drone was delivered. It has not. It was scanned this morning still  in jail at the UPS cage in Ontario  CA.  What is going on  with DJI?

Man, this must be super frustrating, I wish the matter could get resolved soon. OTOH, I wouldn't fault DJI for the shipment delay, it's beyond what they can control, from what I gleaned on the forums, the hold-up is very random, some get the drones in 2~3 days  while others get held up for no reason, often more than 2~3 weeks.

DJI are not the carrier, blame UPS and the US government. It won't get better under Lump.
