Few days ago I've sent a lengthly mail with all the facts and problems about DJI Action 5 Pro to DJI support.

In my mail I've expressed my dissapointment how DJI treats it's cutomers ( lika beta testers ) but i've also wrote all the facts and problems DJI Action 5 has ( HDR, bad image, vigneting, exposure problems, bad flares, ect.). I've gathered and found this problems by spending my own time properly testing the camera and using it in different mods, profiles ect.

They did not even read my mail or they did not want to reply to any of the problems that i've mentioned. The response and reply I got is basically pure trolling with copy paste tameplate about how to use the camera in water .... here is some of the response.

Please kindly note:
1. Before installing the battery, check whether there are any foreign objects in the battery and compartment, as foreign objects will affect battery contact and the device’s waterproof performance.
2. Check whether the USB-C port cover is stuck with any foreign objects, and ensure that the Lens Protective Cover has been tightened.
3. Check that the Lens Protective Cover is intact. If it is damaged, please purchase a new one and replace it. Check the Lens Protective Cover and the surrounding areas of the lens for foreign objects, as foreign objects may damage the Lens Protective Cover and lens, and affect the waterproof performance of the camera. Before going into the water, please check whether the Lens Protective Cover is tightened, and make sure that the rubber gasket at the bottom of the lens threaded ring has not fallen off.
4. The camera is not waterproof without the battery compartment cover, USB-C Port Cover, and Lens Protective Cover.
5. When jumping into water with Action camera at an excessively fast speed, the camera may be water damaged if it has a momentary excessive impact with the water surface. Please take precautions before diving.
6. Do not use the camera in hot springs or expose it to corrosive liquids. It is not recommended to use Action 3/4 in harsh water environment or an unknown liquid.
7. Rinse the camera with clean water after using underwater, and completely air dry it before using it again.

It is obvious for a long time that they don't care about the customers ( you can see also by their copy paste responses with no logic they put here too ).
At this point they are just trolling people too. So stop waisting your time beeing free BETA tester for them. The only solution for this is not buying any of their new products.

Vote with your wallet. Don't buy from them again. Also, leave negative video reviews on YouTube, since that's where most people get their info.

You do know half of your issues are because they have started chasing the MegaPixels like GoPro did, right?  When you cram them into such a tiny sensor not only do you get overheating you get most of the image quality issues you have mentioned.  Its a physical light problem.  More megapixels are good for taking more detailed photos.  It just doesn't work for videos and proven by the failed GoPro cameras.  The Action 4 is better than every GoPro on the market because of low megapixels.  Now we all have to wait on another company to make a 12mp action camera to stomp both GoPro and DJI.  Wonder who it will be?

He is showing what i have posted about here a long time ago. its very easy to replicate, and more noticeable in D-Log m, but i have been able to replicate in normal and supernight mode as well.
What he is doing must be done, if all of us stated posting videos on yt with the same kind of tag lines, identifying and calling out the problems with the camera, maybe theyll rush the fixes!
Dji is aware of this, and im convinced that they are working on it, but I dont have any sources to back this opinion.

If you watched the video, the OA5's color sensor got covered. I'm pretty sure this is unrelated to the issue as I've tried it myself.

- Unfortunately, DJI OA5 has a huge fan base. As a rule, these are people who are far from video shooting. They shoot in PAL under artificial lighting at 60 FPS and claim that they want to squeeze the maximum quality out of the camera. Normal 10 bits are quite enough for them. When you tell them about the dark areas that jump around the edges of the screen, they are ready to bury me.
- DJI will hold another large-scale promotion for OA6 and everyone will be delighted again. Warriors from the fan community will stand up for their favorite, and history will repeat itself.
- I really like Pocket 3 and I don’t like OA 5. It feels like these cameras were developed by different manufacturers.

What I have watched I'm glad I stayed with OA4. Anyways, DJI, never ever jump to megapixel hype. These are video cameras. They require large pixels and low megapixels. Use mirrorless for photos or your iphone. But action cams are really video cameras and physics for stills and videos are different even today like it was in the 1990. You did it right with Pocket 3 and Action 4. If you try to AI generate or split sensor pixels to generate 200 mpx photos. Please don't. Just don't.

And how do you feell when you read this on this forum ?  :

"I've been playing around with the 4 and 5 today and to be honest, I am happier with the Action 4. My mist filter fits since they have the same thread, handle and Wireless Mic Mini work so I’m going to go back to the 4.

Just pointing out the window and the cloud detail looks better imo. It’s all too flattened out with the Action 5 and I can return to controlling the ISO more without that weird exposure movement and odd colours in normal mode.

This has been an interesting read, seeing how others feel tbh and my own doubts about the 5 are reflected in quite a few replies. I think if DJI sort out a few things, it will be on a par or better but certainly at the moment, I'm just not feeling it!

The Action 5 will be stored until there is an update to fix that exposure thing and the odd colour that you can get.

I really do think that the Action 4 is the sweet spot in the DJI action cameras and for anyone looking for a great camera, it even sells at a brilliant price. Going back to throwing gear out ….. I’m so glad that I didn’t get rid of my Action 4. But my Action 5 should start to get nervous ……….."

I wonder whether we are properly understood so the answers are vague, not connected or sometimes, just daft.

Been playing with the Ace Pro today and tbh, I’m wondering why I’m staying with the Action 4 or 5. The 4 is slow to respond to wireless mic and the 5 picture is weird. Might as well go back to a plug in receiver, 10 bit is overrated…. I get a nice picture on the Ace Pro.

I’m not sure how much better the Ace Pro 2 is compared to the original tbh. The mic cover makes it more useable in slight wind without an external mic.

It's not so much you as others, but it's the daily griping of the Action 5, like their whole life revolves around this camera that is growing tiresome. DJI isn't forcing people to use it. If the product isn't meeting your needs, move on. Simple as that.

So, what you are really saying, is that you don't appreciate others constant complaining about a product they bought, not meeting their expectations...

DJI isn't forcing people to use it, in the same way people are not forcing you to read their posts...

Yes, please don't stop complaining. A few more posts and topics in the forum is all it takes for DJI to address all of your complaints.

Exactly. An open forum allows real life feedback which can help to improve a product. Many members are far more observant than me and point out things that I wasn't aware of because I wasn't looking closely enough at that aspect. Then if it bothers me, it gives me a chance to join in and get things changed hopefully for the better.

In any case, each topic has a title so you don’t have to peek. This thread  title is about poor admin feedback. No one was forced to look.

They are addressing none of the complaints, which is the issue...
They are however busy with sponsoring good YouTube reviews with people who barely use the camera

The forum is not just on/off, but where we users discuss "this is a bug", "someone else has this problem", and a lot of other things.
A forum is for discussing, that's the whole point of a forum. I don't read everything here, but I'm happy to take part in discussing finding solutions together with others.

I get it, but with all the "when is the update coming" posts, it is like kid in the back of the car asking "Are we there yet?" every 5 seconds. What's the point? It's pretty clear expectations aren't being met, so why not find a product that works? Not sure why I can't seem to get an answer to the point I'm raising. If I had this level of complaints about a product, I would have sold it 5 minutes ago. Maybe people just love misery.

No one is ‘miserable’. No one has asked daily when the update is out on this thread at all. We’d like a potentially good camera to be better than the competition.

The  thread was about the inane replies that we get from admin on a regular basis. I don’t blame the op seeing the daft reply that he got.

It's not specific to this thread.

Obviously, there's a problem here and I'm trying to steer people in the right direction, but somehow, I became the "bad guy" along the way. Why not contact DJI customer service directly instead of using this forum if you aren't getting the response? Feels like people are doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. Just trying to be helpful here. But if I'm going to be made the martyr, then I'm done here.

I don’t think anyone is trying to make you into a martyr. People just vent. That’s all. No big deal. The op DID contact DJI direct actually. I don't blame him for venting about that reply.

I don't think people appreciate being called a troll or spamming for talking about their issues with the camera and being fed up waiting for a fix. They want a fix, not to get rid of their camera so your advice isnt really that helpful to them.

I have moved on in fact. I use the Action 4 and Ace Pro. Still take down Action 5 updates but not a lot changed!
