Hello DJI

please make a new cam with a wider FOV on the O4 lite camera
Its just too narrow for indoor fast FPV

Thanks

Totally agree.
My other tiny/micro whoops are 170/160 degrees. 117 degrees is too narrow.
I watched a video where a pilot swapped the lens with a ones that comes from a CADDX. But he said it's not that easy to do. But the result was really good

can you link that vid?

i agree 100%,. 117 fov is hillariously small

for a company like dji to miss that opportunity is likely just laziness
they took the cam from the Neo iirc reading and simply didnt do much else..

judging by the sensor being rectangular, does that mean its a 16:9 sensor for sure? or would you say that is a 4:3 sensor? and would the replacement lens of 4:3 be best?

It's definitely a 4:3 sensor. Just toggle between 4:3 and 16:9 in goggles, you can clearly see 16:9 crops top and bottom.

It doesnt matter what shape the sensor has, if the optic is not wide enough

I never said the optics were wide enough. I agree we need a wider lens, just saying the sensor is 4:3 so it's just the lens that needs changing (as obviously seen from the mods above).

+ on wider FOV.  The  similar 117 degree FOV on the Neo has me occasionally bouncing off or worse obstructions just out of the peripheral view.  Even a slightly "fisheye" distortion on the extreme peripheral would be better than not seeing anything for immersive FPV flying.

how about the rumour that the fov can be increased via firmware?

apparently the fov was wider in previous fov release and the public release firmware was lower.
