Hi. It seems the vertical rotation of the gimbal on my new spark is limited somehow. It won't rotate all the way up...there are three notches left on the scale (see screenshot), and I can't get it to go higher than that either with the +/- control or the phone tilt feature. Is this normal?
i don't think is limited. i have the same and doesn't seem to act strange. you can pitch the gimbal down but not up past that 'blue' mark. probably it can go up that point when doing vertical pano. otherwise i'll let more experienced spark owners to comment.
All is well with your Gimbal. In the normal flight modes it cannot go up any further. It can only do so in the Pano picture modes (which are automatic and beyond your manual control) and it can do it in tripod mode, which will be under your manual control. Just test it.

Sir, please take our specs from the website as reference. The gimbal can only tilt up 30° while it can tilt down 90°: https://www.dji.com/spark/info#specs
I can only presume 30 given that’s the default upward tilt on all the DJI drones and seems similar when I’ve used it but yep, it’s not officially advertised anywhere as far as I can see. The specs state zero degrees which isn’t correct when in Tripod mode, as we know.
