I think I will buy it. It would be fun to play with or to train my niece and nephews how to fly with it. They have flown the Spark before but I had to stand over their shoulder and monitor their use 100%. It's only $100 right?
Yes, but that is just like your Spark / Mavic controller right? Not much difference I think .
And for Telly you don't need the best controller if you ask me.
But I would like to have joysticks for flying instead of a touchscreen.
I ordered one but order doesn't show up and item still shows as unpaid in my cart.
Funny, I got an email confirmation plus an email from Paypal showing the payment.
DJI chat says they show the order and it may take 24 hrs to show up in my orders.
Hmmmmmm..............

Nice.
(that you ordered one).
Curious how you like it
(not sure where you should post the results in this forum)
I think it's overkill buying the Tello if you own a Spark. If only the Tello was more of an indoor flying drone with FPV Goggles that could provide diversion to other DJI drones that are all aerial drones. The Tello to someone who own DJI drones really isn't providing much.

8D flips! It supports smartphone VR, but I wonder how you control Tello when its strapped to your head. (Bluetooth controllers look like they connect to your phone and it says "lightning connection latency free", maybe another controller is completely Bluetooth.)

Flips are overrated and cause accidents. There really isn't a good value proposition with the Tello, even though it's $99, it should be geared towards consumers who don't own a DJI drone.

I'm in the US and got email notification at 4am. Ordered it from DJI store this morning.
Says it will ship in 10 days....
So far yes. But I think they will also add support for others.
If you check the Tello site, they also mention another brand.
That is stand alone if I am correct (they don't tell the type)

Congratulations on your purchase. I just don't think the Tello is really going to give you a whole lot more than our Spark, especially with video. Flips are one thing, but viewing the footage on the Tello you'll find yourself feeling spoiled for the Spark video instead.

Are you serious there is no Android Controller solution yet, or is that how it's always going to be? I take it may be hardware issue not firmware related?
I think it's catered to the younger flier, the camera is more selfie than the Spark, which is an aerial camera drone almost on the same level as Mavics and Phantoms.
Is that how the controller plans will remain? I can't imagine it works with Android smartphones the drone itself but when it comes to the Remote Controller it's strictly catering to Apple devices? Is that on purpose?
I went ahead and ordered one as well. Looks like any bluetooth Apple compatible controller will work with my iPhone from what it says on the website. I am going to wait to purchase that until I get the drone. The site said it won't ship for 10-15 days though. I am anxious to see how it compares with the Blade Inductrix FPV. I hope it is a little easier to fly with the vision positioning then the Inductrix. If so it will be great fun for grandkids and beginners.

Not on the DJI store, but on the tello site there is another controller.
I can't see what type that is.

Its an advanced toy in my opinion and doesnt have any surprising features and my spark does everything but 10 times better. Its a really cool quad for very beginners or kids that want to expand on this hobby later.
