I was bumped by a Black Tip
That is general not a good sign for swimmers or divers. Especially if you see sharks pectoral fins become rigid, prior to a grazing bump.
Holy mackerel, now you tell me.
The last thing on my mind was to check for erect and firm tissue.
I did read that they are rather nasty, because they have a reputation for biting, just because they can. The story goes that more people have died from their small bites (relatively small) than Great Whites.
Of course, I knew none of this at the time and tried to swim after them for a better shot.
They are very sensitive to flash photography it seems. I had been flashing the reef to get some colour. That is why there are big white blobs in the image. Detritus reflecting back the light.
Then it hit me. No Fish. Sharks. Time to go.
It is times like that when you wish you had eyes where your ears are, so you can see what is following or coming at you. |
