Hi!
I just got this email from the Royal Film Commission in Jordan. I got sent there from the Tourism Board after inquiring about the Permit for using a DJI Spark in Jordan:
Actually what the Jordan Tourism Board told you is true, the Drone permit takes up to 14 working days to get, and the drone will be held under army custody upon arrival to Jordan and an army personnel will accompany you during your shoot and this will cost you 150 JOD per shooting day paid directly to the army. The army will return the drone to you on departure.
Yes, I was explicity asking for a DJI Spark and I mentioned that it's only 300g. 150 JOD is about 180 EUR or 210 USD …
Wow.
They also confirmend that drones without permit will be confiscated at the airport. So don't try to bring even a tiny Spark to Jordan …
