The Title is misleading.
Our distanation was the Nation Monument but when we got there the wind was gusting so much, our vehicle was moving back and forth. We ended up a few miles away in a low area out of the wind.
The flight was done all in TRIPOD MODE and lasted about 20 minutes. What was deceiving was that from where we started to where I turned around, the terrain droped 12 feet so I had to keep adjusting for that. On the return trip I had to keep rising the MP to keep from hitting the ground. I found in Tap mode if you drop below 18 inches the Drone thinks you are to land and does just that.
My friend who just got his first Drone ,the Mavic Air. On his maiden flight he crashed, not his fault?? No damage .
In my video at frame 2:45 is a large rock he tried to avoid and moved to the right where a Roadrunner (large bird) took a liking to it and jumped on it. He has the video of it running away. The Air was still filming while on it's back.
The video is kind of boring. Just going down a creek bed and back. But I hope you enjoy what Fall looks like in the hight deserts of AZ.

B1Houdini, nice video and a this must be an even more beautiful landscape when there is water in. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching my video.
I wish I could say it is more beautiful when there is water flowing. But the truth is the creeks become a flash flood. Water is muddy and moving fast destroying everything it it's path. It doesn't last long . After a few days the creeks go back looking the way it does in the video.
Thanks for saying it was nice.
I thought it was just OK.
Taking the original off the SD card . Putting it through the editing process and then compressing it to upload to YouTube which changes the quality even more. Does not do the original any justice.
Any suggestion on making a sharper and clearer video is deeply appreciated.
Nice video and will say good flying. Also nice of you to sweep the wash...LOL I use my spark to sweep off the sidewalk in front of my house. Will say that the desert looks much different at sunrise I found out one morning long ago riding my bike... I seen many creatures I never seen before.
No video not boring as I did enjoy and maybe if my health gets better can show the lower part down south of you.

Thanks for the kind words.
I haven't been out flying much but now that there are a few of us with drones ,we are starting to check out different areas.
If it wasn't for the leaves blowing below the props I would of probably had a mishap. The altitude readings were all minus (below take off) and when I finally bought the MP up the creek I thought I was a few feet off the ground when actually I was a bout 18 inches.

Oh wow, didn't know that. Let's hope it is still all fine when that happens.
Sky Carrier.
I took off from the bank of the creek which was at zero altitude.
The creek was 3 feet lower making the altitude -03 feet. I should of been watching the display to catch that. It was a successful flight so I am happy.

Woe,
I tried TapFly once and the MP took off like a rocket heading to who knows where. I immediately canceled it and have never tried it since.
Sounds like a scary moment. I wouldn’t try it again either.
