Added battery mounting detection. Aircraft is unable to take off if the Intelligent Flight Battery is not mounted correctly. Note that DJI GO 4 v4.3.24 or later is required.
Added altitude display to video captions.
Optimized auto discharging function for the Intelligent Flight Battery. Added ability to set when auto discharge will begin. The default setting is five days. Note that DJI GO 4 v4.3.24 or later is required.
Improved obstacle detection accuracy.
Improved accuracy of altitude for Exif photos.
Optimized Waypoints.
Notes:
Restart the aircraft and remote controller after the update is complete.
Note that the update may reset various main controller settings, such as the RTH altitude and the maximum flight distance, to default settings. Before updating, take note of your preferred DJI GO 4 settings, and readjust them after the update.
If the update fails, restart aircraft, remote controller, and DJI GO 4 or DJI Assistant 2 for Mavic, and retry.
This looks like a worthy and welcome firmware update DJI, thanks.
However, it's unavailable to those of us who use the Smart Controller since it requires the GO4 app ver. 4.3.24 and the Smart Controller still uses ver. 4.3.16 and there appears (as of this writing) there is still no update for this.
Can DJI kindly advise when the Smart Controller GO4 app will be updated so that the M2 firmware update will be available for Smart Controller users?

sadly this will likely be the final software update for the mavic 2 series so looks like dji won't be going for enabling side sensors in any form while in position mode flights even though in theory it would be possible and could prevent stupid little crashes nor adding digital zoom which requires almost no hardware to utilize and has been added to phones and devices decades ago.
maybe once skydio comes out with next gen device and if they can undercut mavic 2 series in cost and integrate all their avoidance and AI systems it may re-inspire DJI to take their mavic 2 functionality further, upgrading active track software/AI, enabling dif sensor modes, adding digital zoom functionality, etc etc.
Is this the best DJI can do since April? Well i can say i will jump over this one as i cant see anything useful before i see the report from other people.
I think DJI is more into blocking firmware downgrade then fixing the actual drone itself .Big thumb down!
I didnt test it, but for you all, this dji upgrade on firmware was asked by manny people, we been waiting for this for about one year !
So yeah ! Good Work DJI Team, Good Work DJI Engineers ! We know its not been easy to repair the bugs special on gps EXIF fotos !!!
After updating the firmware I have no video transmission??? Using the Smart controller.
__Rolled back to previous version and now it works. I presume that the Smart Controller software must be updated to???
Can DJI please advise on this aircraft firmware update v01.00.0510 with regard to Smart Controller users? The update is available for my M2P but two of the key battery features are not available to the GO4 app ver. 4.3.16 currently installed on the Smart Controller and there is no indication of an update to ver. 4.3.24 which is required for the battery mounting safety detetection and the new discharge feature.
Is it okay to proceed and update the aircraft firmware anyway?
Also, when will the GO4 app ver. 4.3.24 be available for the Smart Controller to enable use of these new aircraft battery safety and maintenance updates?
(I have already had to replace two swollen batteries for the M2P with possibly a third instance developing, all manufactured before Aug 2018, hence my interest in these new features.)
so...interestingly i started pulling apart this update... well when i say i did my friend did some pulling apart and this appears to be a "completely new branch update." but version numbers dont indicate its a different branch as it has same prefixing. sooo..ya not even sure wtf that means.
DJI moderators, can you please advise when the Smart Controller GO4 app will be updated to take advantage of the very useful battery features in this firmware update? Currently I am on GO4 ver 4.3.16 and this M2 firmware update requires ver 4.3.24 for all features to be enabled.
Seems like Smart Controller users are ignored when it comes to GO4 app updates, same as Crystal Sky owners and the main reason I didn't purchase a Crystal Sky monitor for the Inspire 2.

YES, there are BATTERY updates as well!
If you got more than 1 battery, plug them in one by one and you get the update prompt!
Have tested 2 batteries already, but will try again

Thanks, now I also received notification of battery update, but not before when I did the other updates
