Problems is that Gopro have so much problems with their units.

They are good cameras indeed, but can't trust that it will record.

It would be nice if you did not speak for all OA 3 owners as I am very happy indeed with mine and don’t want a refund. One of the best DJI products I have bought.

I am using and enjoying mine rather that buying then sending back several times and whingeing on like a petulant child

I like the Action 2. More often than not, I use it without the power/screen. I keep a pack in my pocket just for quick charging between shots. Because of its really small size, it can be used easily without attracting attention to you in public places.

Also, the internal mic seems to work really well on it. With external mics though I have to be careful because it tends to be a bit hot on the audio input. It would be nice if DJI sold dedicated mics for these little cameras; especially a lavalier mic. Something that matches the camera's input.

I had asked them to take test shots of the famous ISO_12233-reschart I showed in the first post, attaching the pdf, they told me that their laser printer had toner problems and was printing badly.
Now I don't know if you guys are willing to continue to be taken for a ride by DJI, I am running out of patience.

Since Sunday, I've been waiting for feedback on the pictures I sent them amateurishly taken with and without +2 diopters (glasses). It was photographed in wide separately and in dewarp separately from 30cm to 120cm by 10cm. ISO100, 1/8s. It was supposed to demonstrate a focus error. A simple answer today: "We have just received an update from the engineer team.  As per them, adding +2 diopters will result in less overall picture content and blurred edges. DJI Osmo Action 3 needs to record more picture content."

No conclusion to correct the situation.

Anyway, it doesn't look like this thread is going anywhere so it's kind of a waste of energy. It looks like the A3 isn't going to get much sharper at closer distances and Osmo aren't going to be able to fix it, so we're stuck in an alley.

No, I don't remember the year they won offhand, but that was the catalyst for my Dad to make the decision to go. It all kicked off there just after, so it was probably '67 when we went.

I think the videos are really good. Although I cannot play any of them cuz my 2015 laptop cannot handle 4K, but when I extract a frame it looks really sharp. It's interesting that the JPGs are not as sharp as the video frame. Same lens. Same processing.

The DNGs tend to be blurrier on my camera, too, than the JPGs. Not sure why.

I shouldn't have looked at your new test shots because now I'm upset. How on earth are you getting 110 Mbit/s on your 4K videos!? I shot a few of them just now, albeit in the room because it's already dark outside, but every single 4K, 4:3, 30fps, HEVC, no stabilization, footage is between 69-77 Mbit/s. That's not even close to 110. How is this possible!? I tried a still footage just on a tripod, tried walking around in the room, tried full auto, tried Pro mode with 100-200 ISO. Still the highest I got is 77 Mbit.

Does this has to do with lighting conditions? Obviously in a room with a light is not as bright as outside during day but this difference would cost 40 Mbits?
