I have the same issue where my Drone is BRICKED after clicking on a button in the remote control software that was supposedly verified as being safe for use. It is not like I used any non DJI software,. this is happening with their own software.. All I did is touch the button to switch to Manual Transmission and now can never switch back to Automatic, the app software just refuses to allow Automatic to be reselected!!. This is a serious bug that DJI has absolutely known about for several months because I have talked to customer support about 6 months ago!! They simply refuse to fix my drone for free and will not accept responsibility for adding a button in their software that Bricks the Drone. I imagine we all could fix this at home if they would just let us do FULL FACTORY RESET or downgrade firmware with DJI Assistant 2 software. DJI,,. Maybe relabel the button that says MANUAL to say BRICK DRONE FOREVER AND LOSE $300 !!! Mine was bricked after owning it for only 5 weeks! I don't recommend DJI because their customer support has so far build a bad history of doing nothing. I seriously doubt they will listen to this thread so we're all just suckers for spending money on their product.

I would rather you guys just fix the obvious issue with your software and offer everyone that bought the Mini SE a legitimate solution instead of just ignoring the problems that everyone has been describing to you for several months. Or,.. if you don't know how to fix this problem I would consider allowing us all to trade our bricked Mini SE drones for a brand new updated drone no matter what our warranty status is. You guys should be going out of your way to help your customers out with this because it is seriously an issue that the DJI software development team has created.

You guys at DJI have simply flat out refused to take responsibility for your issue for at least 6 months but probably longer!!!

Everyone is having the exact same issue!! The main unique and constant issue we ALL share is we used the official DJI software and DJI gave us software that broke our drones in the exact same way!!! You simply released software that has a button that bricks these drones, so please stop wasting our time and accept responsibility!!! The Transmission Mode should stay in Automatic and you never should have allowed the users to select Manual,, really simple logic here unless perhaps you have a single digit IQ..  DJI needs to just accept responsibility for releasing bad software and then offer a RESONABLE solution to make happy customers. PLEASE STOP WASING OUR TIME AND JUST OFFER ALL OF US A RESONABLE SOLUTION LIKE HOW ABOUT A TRADE IN CREDIT OR PERHAPS RMA TO GET FREE REPLACEMENTS TO THE DRONES THAT WERE BRICKED / KILLED BY YOUR DEFECTIVE SOFTWARE!!!

Anyone else wish to comment further about this on Tic Toc , Instagram or Twitter? Perhaps we can send complaints to BBB and for extra bonus point how about the FTC Federal Trade Commision.. Just thinking aloud here...

I posted it on Twitter, but no traction. I have yet to get even DJI to reply to my comments. I guess my drone is not new enough for them to care. This is impacting all Mavic drones and not just certain models.

We want a software fixed and not drone replacement for our expense.

Hello, according to the poster's description, the problem he encountered is that the RC cannot connect to the drone, and the problem you mentioned in your reply is that the channel mode cannot be switched. Hope you can understand these are different questions. OK... Can we be serious here... Let's give this one more try DJI and stop it with the foolish "Alternative Facts" and "Twisted Reality" fantasy games you keep playing.

Let's begin with the following simple points...

FALSE STATEMENT FROM DJI SUPPORT --> "these are different questions"
        Stop disrespecting your customers with excuses like this and begin assuming some responsibility for your defective software.

ACTION --> "channel mode cannot be switched"
        I actually told you that if the Manual Button is pressed it will cause an action that triggers the problem. I also said you made the software refuse to switch back to Automatic so you made it IMPOSSIBLE TO REVERT OR TOGGLE BETWEEN MANUAL AND AUTOMATIC. This issue should not ever be a problem for any of us. This is a VERRRRY SIMPLE CONCEPT that you should have no trouble understanding. If you still are struggling with this after re explaining it here I truly believe you need to quit working in the support department immediately.

RESULT --> "RC cannot connect to the drone"
        When the Action I described above happened, it caused the problem where the RC refuses to connect to the drone.


Perhaps It's probably best to just give us all your office address so we can just pick a day for the lage group of us to go show you in person what is actually happening because this online and phone support is simply not effective. It almost seems like you need us to take a more hands on approach with you. Or,.. just go ahead and send us the RMA or Trade in Credit or maybe just a straight up Refund so we all can just move forward and put this stupid nonsense behind us.

DJI honestly seems to have one of the WORST support teams I've ever encountered and this is truly based on their actions with me and literally thousands more. They simply just don't appear to care about their customers after we purchase their products.

DJI simply refuses to solve a MAJOR software bug going on with the Mini SE for more than 6+ months!! Sorry for the misunderstanding. Since we only saw that you mentioned the channel mode cannot be switched therefore we said it's a different problem. If the drone cannot connect to the remote controller, please try the troubleshooting below:
1. If there is an SD inserted, please remove the microSD card from the aircraft and restart it to try again.
2. Switch the linking method between “Linking with app” and “Linking with combination buttons”. For linking with the combination button method, please refer to :
Remote controller: Press and hold the Power button on the remote controller for four seconds to prepare to link.  
Aircraft: Press and hold the Power button on the aircraft for four seconds to prepare to link.
3. If the linking still fails, please check whether the remote controller and aircraft firmware have been updated to the latest version. Update to the latest version and try linking.
The DJI Mini SE aircraft firmware can be updated only after parameter adjustment in DJI Assistant 2.
a. Please download the DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) from the DJI Website;
b. Open the folder where the assistant software is located, and find the "DJI Engine" folder, find "defaultsettings.ini", then open it and change the "0" to "1".


c. Then connect the unit to the PC and update the firmware version.
6. If the issue persists, record the linking process and visit https://www.dji.com/uk/support to contact DJI Support.

Don't be rude. Apparently, you did not mention the drone failed to pair with RC, how can the admin know your problem? Just describe the problem clearly and follow the suggestions, DJI will surely provide a solution. Don't spam the thread.

YOU PRESS MANUAL TRANSMISSION... YOUR DRONE BRICKS AND WILL NO LONGER PAIR TO YOUR CONTROLLER

KINDA EASY TO UNDERSTAND  WHEN THERE IS MULTIPLE THREADS WITH ALL THE SAME ISSUES...

DRONE BLINKS YELLOW...WILL NOT PAIR TO RC

PRETTY STRAIGHT FORWARD

AND YES....MY 2 MONTH OLD MINI SE IS NOW A 300 DOLLAR PAPER WEIGHT AS WELL

We are now in end of February 2023!!!

Unbelievable that DJI keeps trying to hide from this and refuses to help customers solve this major defect!!

DJI obviously released software that has a serious bug that permanently bricks the drone!

ANYONE THAT ATTEMPTS TO DEFEND DJI SUPPORT AT THIS POINT SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO GET THEIR HEAD EXAMINED!! IT'S LIKE GROUNDHOG DAY WITH THESE GUYS AT DJI SUPPORT! SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE AND ONLINE STATED VERY VERY CLEARLY AND UP UNTIL NOW HAVE SPOKEN IN A KIND AND VERY COURTEOUS MANNER FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND STILL NO RESOLUTION FROM DJI TO HELP US CUSTOMERS!! THEY SIMPLY WANT TO CONTINUE MAKING THE CONVERSATION GO IN CIRCLES AND NEVER OFFER ANY OPTIONS TO FIX THE DRONE THAT ACTUALLY WORK!

DJI = 無頭蒼蠅

Why? Cos I didn't see them using any offensive words except you. And I didn't see any cooperation from you. You just keep blaming them but don't do any troubleshooting and tell them what they need. Who can help you?

they have to fix this issue , this is bad news for the newer that buy this little drone , i have one and i use manual some time and wend i read about this issue i never use manual agant just in case but i hope they fix this one day , i not sure if this still a issue today but if someone have the inf left then know

I am so totally extremely mad, as it seems DJI knows about this problem since the beginning and obviously doesn't care. I am on a long term trip around Asia, changing the hotels all the time, how should I now solve this issue? Should I bring the bricked drone with me all the time, together with my two kids?  And when DJI will fix the issue, where they are going to send it, as I am on travels???

Hello All,
Checking back if there is any update on this issue.
Seems the only thing that has happened is DJI asked what the issue was again and suggested DJI Assistant 2.

Hopefully, this is fixed soon.

Corinne, Perhaps you can apply for a job at DJI and work in their support department, seems like you are operating on the same level as the rest of their department.
You just have to pass their mind blowing aptitude test to get hired.

I think you should get a warning so you could be polite.
How can you ask someone to tell you the answer or solution without showing your question? How do you determine that this is a software problem? You didn't provide any valid information, how can DJI fix it? You just keep repeating worthless and rude words instead providing the information DJI needed.
If I were you, I will immediately provide all the data DJI asked for and then wait for their solution rather than waste the time.

my mini se was repaired in Fort worth and they said the aircraft module board malfunctioned causing the no linking

as my drone was out of warranty it was not covered....however the repair cost wasnt to bad (109.00)

its in quality control as of today and hopefully will ship today or tomorrow

i can say the Fort Worth are pretty quick and have sent emails to verify each process in the repair step....very professional

hopefully my drone will be back by the end of the week

Can you please take the drone out to your car and turn the left indicator on as well as the wipers then may we know how the status indicators showed when the aircraft and remote controller are turned on? Hello everyone! I have the same issue, clicked on manual channel 151 or 150, and i'm unable to connect remote to drone anymore, drone only flashing green light, and drone not going to pair mode( it has beep but battery lights doesn't moves)

edit1: tried to flash drone and remote to latest version, have no luck
