Hello Craig, firstly, make sure the drone and RC have been updated successfully and you can post the hidden log which could be found in the hidden folder MISC in the SD card. Secondly, it is important to keep the RC and antennas in an appropriate position and choose an open area without interference. Here is the video:
you keep saying the same thing its not just me that has this problem i i wood not recommend your company to anyone u just keep saying to do the same thing all the time u need to fix the fw or i will just sell mine and will b done with dji
The latest firmware doesn't reduce the range.I hope you can post your upgrade LOG as well as upload your flight record. Then post a photo of the flight environment and your DJI account here. If the drone keeps triggering RTH in a short distance wherever it is, I'd suggest you can contact our service center in Europe and send both of the drone and RC for diagnosis.
Here is my experience of the update (I have about two hours total flying time)
Updated last night to 1.6.80 - took about 20 minutes
As per other posts on the forum I did an IMU/Gimbal and Compass calibration (should've cooled it before doing the IMU but was keen to fly)
Took it into the garden - only went up and forward about 20 feet and hovered a bit but with no problem
Took it out to fly properly this morning on Cannock Chase as I've done several times previously. Did the compass dance even though it didn't ask for it.
After hearing the woes of Signal Loss I went through all the options on the DJI Go App before taking off.
I flew about 100 feet away and ... got the dreaded signal loss warning. Instead of going into a panic, I hovered and looked what could be wrong.
Doh ... in my haste to fly I hadn't oriented the aerial on the transmitter properly (I had watched the transmitter video several times)
I pointed the aerial in the correct direction and had a great time!
I'm not trying to tell you that you don't know what you're doing just that there 'may' be a logical explanation
I can understand how frustrating it can be
Don't put it in the bin, but if you do can I have the battery please
