Need internet to take off when no GPS

Hi,

I have some DJI AIR 2S drones, and when I try to take off indoors, it indicates that there was a problem during GPS initialization. It asks me to move to an open area and only lets me take off if I connect my tablet (the one connected to the controller) to the internet. If I don't connect the tablet to the internet, it doesn't allow me to take off. Tested with 3 diferent AIR 2S drones and they behave the same way.

I tested with 2 MAVIC AIR 2 under the exact same circumstances, and both allow me to take off without connecting to internet.

Any ideas?

It should allow you to take off with no GPS. I have seen people fly those indoors with no GPS.

If you were logged in, you can fly it also without GPS.

It may be that you are getting a warning about the drone being in ATTI mode, the room needs to be well lit with a clear and distinctive floor pattern, so that the VPS can work.
If the warning is being issued then you will need to acknowledge the warning and confirm acceptance of any risk, once that is done you should be able to start the drones motors. Internet is a;most certainly NOT needed.

The drone is in a well-lit room, and once the drone is in the air, it does not go into ATTI mode at any time, either before or after takeoff.

The issue is that the maximum height is limited to 3 meters until the Android device gets an internet connection. Once it connects, the height limit is released.

the 3m limit is in accordance with the manual.
"Height is restricted to 3 m when the GNSS signal is weak and light"[ing] " conditions is"[are] "not sufficient."

What happens when the tablet is connected to the internet seems unusual, are you certian that you are interpreting what you see correctly ?
Perhaps posting a screen capture video of the app would be a good idea.
