Ive not seen that one move since it was put back into the water about 3 weeks ago.     I was told the owner is tight and thats why he has the cheapest furthest mooring.

So now he is burning fuel to get from land out to his boat.  I guess, unless he makes a lot of trips, that doesn't bother him.  

On of the guys I know at the local marina is selling his boat.  He is single and 78 years old and says he can no longer maintain it by himself.  He has a really nice 20 meter long boat and when he told me what his asking price was going to be I almost offered to by it myself and then resale it.  However, I told him to raise the asking price and drop if needed to meet a reasonable offer.  He sold it 4 days later at a price well above what he told me he was going to ask.  He called and said to stop by and he'd buy me a few beers.

Only 12c this morning when I was out,  borderline jumper weather for me,   hoping it warms up later and the deliveries have all arrived in time to get out for high tide.

That sounds like houses here at the moment,    they used to put in a price,  and you'd offer less and hope to get it,   now you have to offer more if you stand a chance of getting it.  

A free beer is always good though.

I can't tell you how many houses here have been sold for over or way over asking price.  It's crazy how the prospective buyers get into bidding wars.  I guess that is what happens when you have a shortage of available housing.  Hard to believe there is a shortage when every time i go somewhere I see a new hosing development going up.  

A friend of my daughter is a Real Estate Broker and she says the market is really crazy.  Many people who are becoming empty nesters are selling their houses to scale down but end up paying more for a smaller house than just staying in their current house.  Even the price of Condos and apartments have increased in price so much I don't know how people can afford them.

Theres a type of house here called a bungalow,  which is usually a single story detached house thats quite small and they can sell for considerably more than a much larger house,   something Ive never understood.

I think its demand due to be people liking them for retirement.  But it's been that way ever since I started looking at house prices.
