You're most welcome Mr. B.  I'm betting you seldom forget to take it.

Forgot it this morning, but I was only half a mile from home. So it wasn't an issue

At least you were fairly close to go get it.

I'm going to head out to the dive shop and get all my tanks refilled as I have to clean the bottom of boat.  Yep, it's that time again.  Fun, fun, fun.

A pity there isn't a gadget available to do that - a bit like robot mowers to keep the grass neat for land-based homes .
But at least, your way, you get to combine a leisure activity with "Housework"

Brilliant shot! Just the right time for a still surface of water to get those reflections just right. I really ought to learn to keep the Pocket 2 with me as often as you do

I think the cloudy sky helped too. Had it been sunny a clear blue, there may not have been such a contrast in the backdrop.

Last time I cleaned the bottom of the boat I had let it go a bit too long and there was a ton of marine life stuck to the hull.  I swore I wouldn't let that happen again.  So now it is just a thin layer so will be fairly easy to clean.  I can probably get it done with only one double tank of air.

My youngest grandson recently got his open-water dive certificate and was going to help me with it but he is gone for the next 2 weeks on a Caribbean cruise with his parents and brother.

I bet I know which he would rather be doing

If you bet on the cruise you'd be 100% right.

Back on the boat topic - those barges go into dry dock occasionally for cleaning.
Or some of them, at any rate.
Others seem to be left to moulder and rust away, looking ever more unsightly.

It appears that the ones in your shots are still capable of being renovated and commuting up and down the canals.

I saw in one of the comments that they are probably not the best candidate to turn into mobile living spaces.

The red and black one seems to still be in working order.
The one next to it may have seen its last journey.
I've weekended on one in the past.
Cramped and basic was my impression. Like an aquatic caravan (trailer).
Ok for a holiday expedition.
Some people live on them as permanent homes.

Sounds like a candidate for a mobile jail.

There were about another half dozen in the backwater, but these were the two that caught my eye

The lived-in ones generally have smoke drifting out of the chimney.
No-one home at any of these

Normally the chimney round here is a sign they are lived on,   do you think these were abandoned?

No, those in the last pic are regularly visited. The OP was at the entrance to a rather scruffy-looking marina, where I've seen activity in the past.

Absolutely, too bright and it could be quickly ruined.

Several decent days in succession here - summer may have arrived.

Glad to hear that. Here the weather reports have predicted that this week will be very hot, and the UV values are high so there is a serious risk of sunburn. Will need to be careful. I'm lucky to have an air conditioning pump and two fans in my apartment.
