Last Sunday, we were at Callantsoog and had some good fun with the family at the sea.
Some Nikon D750 footage and a lot of Pocket 2 footage.
I really love this small stable camera that I can take anywhere.

@DAFlys a lot of the beach shots were shot in 'underslung' mode
Came out great if you ask me.

Kids of all ages love a paddle.  Even Mrs.B  insists on it whenever we're by the sea - even one time in the Baltic!
Your own soundtrack too?
Nice work. And explain underslung mode?

Yeah, it's something magical somehow.
Underslung mode is when you have the Pocket upside down.
You have to power on while in that position and it will recognize the orientation and keep it 'right side up'.

Looks like you had some great weather for a family fund day at the beach.  I think using the inverted mode worked out quite well Peter.  Really nice job on this video.

Yeah, absolutely.
Hahahahahahahahaha.
Too good to make it melt.
This is the best (according to the officials) ice in NL, so it was worth eating.

Or use the mimo app on the phone

I never found a good way to use that that suits my Pocket 2 'needs'.
If you add the phone, the P2 has changed from 'pocket' to  'big and clumsy'.
You need to attach it, losing the quick reaction time of a P2 'on its own'.
You need 2 hands, whereas this underslung method is doable with one hand.
The phone screen is probably also oriented to the side instead of up (unless the attachment allows for rotating upwards)
My iPhone connector is fixed at least. So I can't rotate the screen upwards
So, I just aim by feeling

You can connect wirelessly with the Mimo App, rather than physically, you know.

Today it's back to wet wet wet.

Don't feel bad as it is the same here.  I've got my eye on a couple of tropical depressions.  One is southwest of the Bahama Islands and the other is in the southwestern part of the Gulf of Mexico.  I'm just hoping neither turn into a tropical storm and then develop into a hurricane.  We are already in the first month of the hurricane season so anything is possible.

I read something about a heat dome developing in the USA.

I read something about a heat dome developing in the USA.

From the national weather service website:

A heat wave in the western United States that started last week has been made even hotter by a “heat dome” sitting over the region. This phenomenon occurs when a high-pressure system stays in the same place for days or weeks, trapping hot air beneath it, like a lid on a pot.

The power companies will be working overtime to keep the generators pumping out electricity to keep up with all the A/Cs running full blast.  No doubt a few brownouts will occur.  I'm glad I've got two onboard generators and one portable one I use in my combined storage room/garage.

It certainly does.  During the last power outage I put my drone up in the sky and it was dark as far as the camera could see, except for the lights on my boat.  It is always nice to not have to worry about losing power and items in refrigerator or freezer going bad.

Too bad our homes are not designed like this.

My youngest daughter was thinking about installing a whole home generator for her house.  Full installation price was $8K.  However, her HOA/CDD would not approve the request.  Just another reason why I wouldn't live in a development that has a HOA/CDD.  You own the land and the house but they can tell you what to do with it.  Keep your grass under 3" tall.  Cars can't be parked on the street.  Cars in drive way can't block sidewalk.  Only 4 exterior colors authorized.  Fences can only be so tall, etc., etc.
