DJI just released a large firmware update for the RC2, version 02.02.0300. I was able to update the controller using the DJI Assist 2, and everything went smoothly although it took some time to do the update. Can't really see a difference, but will see if I can give it a fly before another update is released

Wouldn't it be cool if I could now use the RC2 with my Integra goggles

Wouldn't it be cool if my Mini 4 stopped flying through the air in a giant wave

Wouldn't it be cool if there was firmware to control a couple new drones lurking in the background there someplace

I checked out Nobbygreen's you tube channel this morning as he's my go to for being on top of update's as I noticed something odd during the update. He has a vid up about it and he expereienced the same series of events I did.
When I did the RC2 update to 02.02.0300, the update downgraded the fly app from 1.13.10 to 1.13.9. After seeing that, I went in and checked for an aircraft firmware update, and that was fine, and the into about under profile, and there was a fly app upgrade to bring it back to 1.13.10. So seems as the fly app now updates seperately from the firmware's, DJI released 02.02.0300 for the RC2 with an older fly app version and we now need to update the fly app after firmware updates.

Same thing when I updated today. I thought it rather odd.

Went out for an evening test fly tonight, and so far as I can tell everything is working as it should. Auto return to home worked perfectly, and I did notice an improvement in landing accuracy, with the drone taking its time finding the center of my landing pad, and landing slowly and precisely on two seperate landings. Battery life seemed better than usual, and on a mildly windy evening flying at some altitude.

Wouldn't it be cool if they put a button on the screen to update the home point instead of having to drill down in the menu?

Is it better to update with Assistant 2? Any advantage?

Is there a chance that DJI brings an update from the update so that the DJI Fly App is not downgraded?

Will the new New Neo Drone work with the RC2? It appears to be OCCUSYNC 4, but that doesn't guarantee anything:/

I've noticed that when my RC2 boots up, it always loads with the date 26 July 2024, and unless I manually update the date or it connects to WiFi, my flights are recorded with that date. I got the RC2 on the 30th July and updated it immediately after which I noticed this.

Is it usual that the RC2 date resets every time it's turned on?

Something I do after every successful flight, is download my videos, and then go into my profile under settings, storage, and clear my cache, all three of them. You can do this for the RC2 internal storage or the cache on the SD card if you are using that, or in the app on your phone. Often after a big update there is a large amount of data in cache serving no purpose. If you are using an SD card for storage, after you download your files, format the card and make sure you select it and set it up for use after. If your storage is full or fragmented and there is insufficient space to write the update, or the device is breaking the update write up into small chunks all over the place in a storage location, it's not surprising that the update will take forever, and or fail to do so correctly.
