Well that's scary then.  Like you say the RC should be able over ride any light sensing issues.  Other drones I have flown always defaulted to Attitude mode when GPS was lost, but if the Neo defaults to cameras and the like - not good IMO.

This little drone definitely needs the option to disengage the sensors and engage ATTI mode.  Neo would make for a nice indoors as well as outdoors quad.  But right now indoors flying is risky unless your skill level allows Manual mode.  Right now using the FPV RC3 the only way to avoid the Neo's low light limits is to fly M mode with ATTI either engaged or inactivated. Need to figure out the right gain and rate configuration for indoors tight quarters flying.  Life would be nice just to fly N or S mode indoors in ATTI mode on days like today. Dark cloudy and raining.

I once had the herpes virus and contacted Dr. Ajayi via email. He assured me that I would be cured after taking his herbal medicine. Months later, I noticed changes in my condition. When I went for a check-up twice, my test result came out negative, confirming that I was completely cured. If you're dealing with a similar illness, you can contact Dr. Ajayi via email at ajayiherbalhome@gmail.com or reach him through Call/WhatsApp at +2348119071237. He can help with various health problems including hepatitis B, HIV/AIDS, cancer, and lupus or any major diseases Visit his website at https://ajayiherbalhome.weebly.com

The drone DJI NEO has been behaving completely erratically more than once. I was flying with the controller RC2 and at a random moment, the drone suddenly starts to change direction sharply and becomes uncontrollable, even at high speeds. Here is a video link as evidence of the drone’s erratic behavior:

There are definitely some bugs in the firmware that get triggered in certain situations. I'm new to drones, but I had some simulator time before and now I fly the NEO extensively.

My last few flights were with FPV in M-Mode without limits, and I experienced the same problems as some people on YouTube. After a small impact that didn't cause a crash, later that flight I switched N-Mode for landing and the drone went out of control (rised up/flyaway). After a few very scary seconds, the NEO accepted my input again, and I regained control. I didn't even have a sensor warning, so I thought I would be safe.

Another annoying problem is that Motor Stop doesn't work as expected when I crash in M-Mode. The drone lies on its back and goes crazy for 2-3 seconds before I can finally stop it.

Hello sir, this is very similar to what I experienced! I flew it by the beach, but in my case, it behaved erratically right after takeoff, so I didn’t get a chance to record because I panicked. Good thing you were able to record it as our proof.

The drone clearly has issues, but DJI stubbornly refuses to acknowledge them. They advise everyone not to fly over water, yet they run misleading ads for this drone, showing flights and tracking over water, which is a complete contradiction! Also (and perhaps this is the actual cause), many people are experiencing GPS problems, with satellites jumping around erratically. I checked in the same location, with the same controller, and at the same time using the Mini 4 – the satellites were stable (21 satellites). On the Neo, within seconds, the number jumps from 16 to 23, and at 14-15 satellites, sometimes it even turns red and says the position is not determined. I tried launching without the controller in selfie mode, and it started jerking and flying toward me. DJI seems to have released this drone just for profit without properly testing its functionality, turning users into beta testers at their own expense. And they are profiting further by charging €89 through Care Refresh to those whose Neos fly away due to these glitches.

I don't think they will make a lot of profit with 89€ Flyaway replacements, as this behavior of the aircraft will also cause a lot of complaints especially when customer has not booked the DJI Care refresh.
However, I had a wonderful day with DJI Neo yesterday and made a lot of cool quickshots. I'm very satisfied with the video quality and functionality in relation to the price.
BUT: At the end of my flight I started to land the drone on a glass table by my phone, where it already starts the flight. And than it happened: around 30cm above the glass table Neo got confused and was accelerating sideways so it crashed in a bush 5 meters next to the table. The Neo is not damaged, no scratches... But this behavior is not acceptable. I don't know about similar drones from Hover or even cheaper drones from discounter etc., but I cannot imagine that this behavior is state of the art even for cheap drones. It's just dangerous, in my opinion a Software Bug and need fixed asap!!

Hello, I had the same problem with my neo on the 3rd flight... I took it off inside my house to show it to a friend and after several flights it became uncontrollable, drifted quickly to the right and hit the wall. especially with the mode controlled with my phone... since then it becomes uncontrollable every 2 or 3 flights and it will hit the wall, it's hell! this drone has a serious problem

i have the exact same error with "jumping GPS sat numbers" , in total open field with no interference, while hovering in place it suddenly said it has no gps and cant return home then flew away for a few seconds and once the gps sat number got yellow again (from red) it was somehow controllable, then finally "green sats" and all was okay. it scared the hell out of me, happend several times now, each time for no obvisious reason, so i can not be prepared, if it blinks red, you pretty sure have some spooky moments at least. i feel its a mix of low light situations, external (even small like 1m/s) wind forces, patterned or mirrored surfaces, and mainly component drift without proper kalmanfiltering, ...

so the final question the neo internally thinks is like "HEY, i have a problem, my gps says a, my  compas says b, my accel says c, my gyros say d, my ir says f, my visionflow says g, my human pilot wants h(elp) ... ERROR." ^^ (Kappa)

Hi, just to report that this happened to me as well. Twice.
First time while I was performing a quick shot directly from the drone last week. Result: the drone went sideways and crashed on the sand near me, instead of coming back at me. I had to stop it "manually" and I cut my finger with the rotors. Not cool

Second time today. I was using my RC. Completely lost control of it out of the blue. Went sideways. Tried the return to Home. Crashed into a tree in the jungle. I recovered the drone, which still looks ok with no apparent damage. But it was scary. Could have hit people or cause damages.

Question, did something occur on the fly before your incident?

Cheers

Hi there,
thank you for reaching out.

We are sorry to learn of the incident and apologize for the delay in our response. As the drone has crashed, we advise you to return the drone for a thorough inspection. In this manner, it ensures the safety and performance of the future flight.

Kindly contact our support team: https://www.dji.com/global/support for assistance in raising the ticket.

I too had the similar Experience today. On the follow mode the drone is hovering intanct….but if try manually with my rc n3 the neo is drifting sideways.

I also noticed about 1-2 months ago that when I fly indoors (not tested outdoors recently), the Neo with RC-N3 controller suddenly stops responding to inputs and flies straight into the next obstacle. Control inputs are not accepted. I installed the latest update today and hoped that the problem would finally be solved, but no, the first flight with the RC-N3 controller went badly again. My Neo has now crashed into an obstacle for the 4th time and it's not my own fault. It's about time DJI took proper care of the problem! No more excuses!

Not good to hear!!!
Although I didn't experience any more the 'unconrollable accelerating and crashing-bug' with the latest Fw, there still seems to be an issue out there :-( DJI, what is going on with the NEO? Did you really release such a faulty drone?

Neo was a blast at first, very reliable and predictable. I even had great night flights with Neo(with LED light landing gear, not recommended) After the latest N3 update, stability in low light is absolutely trash. I can’t even be in a shadow during day time now. When hovering not touching the sticks it does whatever it wants now and the operator is no longer in control if you’re in any type of low light situation. It’s no longer a trustworthy drone and is about to be sold. It’s a shame Neo could've been such an amazing drone.

There are so many cases in this latest firmware, and DJI continues to ignore everything. Just wait a bit, Drone Tweaks are coming soon. They are great at hacking DJI drones and solving problems that the creators themselves can't solve
