Light/tracking module position

I received the 7P today, and I'm very impressed by the device.

The only thing I don't understand is why the light/tracking module position is below the phone?
If the camera is leveled with my eyes, the "below" light is giving the infamous "horror movie" style lighting. I understand the size of this light modifier is not for a "serious production," but still... The placement renders it completely unusable, and it's a wasted opportunity.

Same problem with the tracking camera. If I'm using it for a Zoom call behind my laptop, I want the phone's camera to be slightly above the laptop lid level. Since the tracking camera is ~6-7cm below, it becomes hidden behind the lid.
