Just got prompted to update FW to v01.00.0400 on my Mavic Air. When did this get released?

No release notes yest:

I wonder what the improved safety is for activetrack and smartcapture. Im hoping they enabled APAS while using them. No sign of dynamic homepoint in the settings nor waypoints.

Yeah that's a pretty serious issue to be fixing. Does that mean potentially most of the flyaways that have been reported have been a firmware or software issue?

Got the same and updated, seems important and she who must be obeyed learnt another lesson tonight. So happy days.

Looks like no rolling back from this one either.

Done. No mention of battery upgrade. Am I right?

I noticed that in version 1.00.0300 at least rear obstacle avoidance in smart capture mode didn't always work well. Sometimes my Mavic Air would come too close (less than 0.5m) to an obstacle without any reaction or warning. I hope that's what they've fixed.

Have they removed dynamic home point?

Done smoothly as well and I can confirm that neither batteries nor RC are concerned with this update, only MA.

No reason at all to be scared. A potential and important issue has been identified and was addressed very quickly. Yours has not crashed or flown away, mine neither. Thus update quickly and fly happily! In case other users have been affected by this problem, I have no doubt that warranty was given. Thank you DJI for this quick and hopefully effective action!

No mention of fixing the low resolution geo tagging on images....bummer!

Just downloaded new update and all is well so far. Flew 2 batteries through it with no problems.

It has nothing to do with that. But I nevertheless would recommend you to make yourself familiar with the drone regulations in your country before getting into trouble.

This update does not affect this, I can confirm it!

Just updated on DJI Assistant 2 - no issues with the update. Can't see any changes within the app in terms of additional features or lay out. Be sure to check over your app configurations such as RTH altitude as some settings may return to factory defaults (RTH altitude back at 30m etc).

Updated but it's too windy to test right now.

Just updated mine too.  Went flawlessly.

Just like you said, my RTH altitude changed to 30 meters.  The only other thing I noticed was my yaw setting in EXP returned to it's default of .40 from where I had changed them to .10

Anything else I need to look for?

For anyone that is interested, I loaded the new v01.00.0400 firmware that was released for the Mavic Air today and it did not improved the resolution of the geo tags embedded in the images

It does upgrade batteries.

Just upload the new firmware this morning and now the fan come alive !!
No more overheating message !

It didn't need to on my Air. Updating from v..300 to v..400 - all batteries worked fine without warnings.

I think I updated my drone to 300 but may not have inserted other batteries until this update (400)

Ah, that makes sense, Jeff.

Anyway, this firmware release flies well. Just took it for a spin around my house (too windy outside currently) - very stable.

Otherwise, contrary to the Release Notes, my camera settings were not reset.

Hi, it is the firmware data safety improvement, which is related to the software security encryption.
And settings reset, it might set to default settings, it varies from the specific update. If the update succeeds, no worries.

anyone noticed anything on their gimbal config after update?

last weekend i flew mine far over the windy (15-20mph wind) ocean without issue. sometimes updates scare me. (knock on wood)

My video resolution switched from 4K to 1080p in the camera settings. The best thing to do is to check over all of the settings throughout the whole app. I also recalibrate the IMU and gimbal after a FW update too.
