I honestly didn't know that.  Thats what happens when you live in the jungle, you lose track of what is apparently obvious to everyone else.  hahaha.  Thank you for sharing your observation.

Difficult to come up with something original here. I'm thinking aircraft and people who had defining moments in aviation history.
1. Kittyhawk (Level 1) first powered flight
2. Spirit of St Louis ( Level 2 ) First non stop Atlantic  crossing
3. Spitfire (Level 3 ) First true fighter aircraft
4. Sabre (Level 4) One of the first swept wing jets

I thought it would be nice to create intermediate steps using the "Senior" modifier. This way there are less rank titles to memorise and there could be a better sense of progression due to the direct relation between some tiers.

IMHO, the whole idea of labelling should be based on amount of member's contribution to this forum, not on total mileage. The rank of Captain I was awarded with has no relation to total flight distance I've made with 5 DJI drones in my fleet since 2015. Some of them aren't even displayed below my avatar, as well as flight mileage. With existing system of ranking a new member - or just a by-passer - expressing bunch of worthless crap may appear as wise, trustworthy adviser in Captain rank! Moreover, the poster is hidden behind usually mindless nickname, the purpose of which is escaping my logic ...

Simple 5-star system may be best to reflect hierarchical position of a given forum member. The number of posts and replies can determine the amount of stars easily. It will clearly indicate who's able to survive notorious BS and crap posted here regularly, maintain sanity and contribute with valuable informations ...
