It is a huge drawdown that DJI did not release the Virtual Flight App for Android, however I found a solution which is better than nothing. You can use a third party FPV simulator on Android.

I found and tested FPV Freerider (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Freeride.Freerider&hl=en&gl=US) and FPV Freerider Recharged (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Freeride.FreeriderRecharged&hl=en&gl=US). I bought and tested both of them and it works without problems. They also offer a free version to test if the setup works but the ads are extremely annoying so do buy the full version. It costs just a few bucks.

It works with both DRL and LiftOff on PC

I'm disappointed since that info never came out from DJI.
I bet there's more Android users than IOS. For me was essentially a safer way to fly manual... Im furious

Damn, I had purchased the DJI FPV drone yesterday with the intention of being able to log a few hours in the simulator before I took it outside. I had no idea you needed to have a apple product to use it. Wish I had known this before...

Nah... screen isn't locked into your forward position.... just like having a big tv.  unless it can be done through the dji googles, then it's not the same.  Even the drone performances are probably not matching

That´s my hope! I have both DRL and LIFTOFF, have to try it.. Nevertheless it would be nice to have t on mobile

This is particularly silly since DJI references the Virtual Flight app in the tutorial videos that you should use their flight simulator before flying in manual and again, in the ACTUAL GOGGLES when you switch the drone to manual mode, the menu says several times that you should fly in the simulator before attempting manual mode.  Does DJI think that Andriod users shouldn't use manual mode??  I'm very impressed with DJI in general but this is sending up some pretty big red flags about the $2500 I just dropped on this thing.

I am really disapointed as well

If you don't have an iPhone plug your controller into your computer and buy "Liftoff" so you can practice too!

My connection:

1. the Type-C Converter connecting to my tablet
2. the Type c cable connect to the controller

I bought FreeRider and it works perfectly now. Thank you!

I installed Dji Assistant 2 for fpv and upgraded to latest firmware and should have the correct drivers
Anyone else have this issue?

I too was disappointed and upset about the lack of an Android version of the DJI Virtual Flight app, but so far from what I've seen and what people who have used it have told me... it's pretty crummy and sucks.

I just bought Liftoff instead and it works great with the Remote Controller 2, someone even created a drone in the game with the DJI FPV Drone handling and flight characteristics that you can download from Steam Workshop and I've been practicing for hours with that instead.

This is such a cheap move from dji I have no words for it.. Oh and all those sellout "you tubers" who received the Drone for free,NONE of them thought of mentioning this? Or were forbidden from doing so?either way that's it for the trust I had in reviews from cheapos who get their stuff for free,it's just sellouts that's all.
Oh and yes my trust for dji went through that window as well,I regret buying this Drone for being considered second zone users not worthy even though I paid 1500€ for a product that can't handle an android app.

I really hope the other brands will come in hot to switch

People are returning orders because of the Virtual app?  Excuse me? If DJI knew that, they would definitely have the Andriod version.
Just use Liftoff for practice. The virtual Flight app is not good anyway.

MMM... Partially False Advertising by chance anyone? After all they say its compatible with android and apple.Granted its the simulator that seems to be the biggest issue which is also the main reason why some of us bought one to see if we actually like FPV before going all in on one as well as for the fpv video footage. Appears to not quite be the case completely which seems to be a huge let down without a doubt. and autell coming out with a 8k drone that seems to be more weather friendly and such even though its ugly as sin but if it holds up better looks like things like this issue may be DJI's competition's best spot to hit them on and exploit very quickly and easily..I do wonder if any of the other FPV simulator apps would possibly work granted we won't have the dji instructions about the controls to help guide us that are wanting to do the sim prior to actually flying to get the hang of the control movements. Yeah had I known of this prior to ordering I wouldn't have ordered the drone at all period.. I know new product going to have some issues but so far seems to be more issues than what there should really be right out the door from the start..not to mention all the beta testers that I'm sure had some insights of the app issues which I'm quite sure told DJI about those as well...oor is this a consumer ploy with apple to help boost apple sales?

This seems to be a dirty little secret. Can barely find it mentioned anywhere. Even the youtube video showing the setup doesn't have a single mention of it.  Mine arrived this morning and I've already packed it up and started the return process.  I ONLY got this for learning full acrobatic mode.... Even if they had a PC simulator for it, then I'd have used that... but just Apple.... unbelievable.

They have DJI flight simulator but requires a pretty decent PC to run

All the Youtubers use iPhones, I haven't seen any reviewer use Android or try to use the drone with an Android phone so it's entirely plausible that they just don't know.

I'm training on a PC till my DJI FPV drone arrives.
It's even better with nicer graphics and way bigger, cooler maps to fly.

It's a shame...

I bought this drone the first day and was disappointed to find this out, but coping being an Android user also since day 1. I am beginning to get frustrated however because I would really like to practice getting some acro while using the goggles. I've tried the workarounds and used 3rd party simulators with my xbox controller on FREERIDER FPV and I feel better, but this thing is too expensive to crash with no practice in the goggles.

I want to grow.
Please let the android users grow their FPV skills safely. PLEASE give us at least an ETA at this point it has been weeks since the release! Even if the date is a lie or you miss it, it will give us hope and let us know that you are working on it.

We can be frustrated and have patience, but WE NEED HOPE that you are working on it.

Please don't suck and let us down by not replying to us. You're better than this, we know you are.

You can actually connect DJI controler from FPV drone to PC and use it for example in DRL on steam. Don't use xbox pad.

why dji don't enable Virtual Flight in the googles v2 without phone? too easy?

What exactly is the delay here ?

If you browse the forums, you ll find out they replied. They dont care that more than half the customer base is using android phones, they might eventually transfer Virtual Flight to Android, if they want, whenever they want. This is no priority to them and they expect the customer to adapt, or by buying an apple phone or by using a PC simulator.

I am very disappointed that DJI decided that Android users were not as important than iPhone users, if this indicates a trend for Android users it will weigh heavily in the consideration of my next drone, not cool DJI, not cool.

Dji has really let buyers down. First no Android support for the FPV simulator. Second Smart Controller isn't compatible with the Mini 2.
I've just bought the FPV Combo and Motion Controller. I already have the Mavic Pro, Mavic Zoom, Mavic 2 Pro and Mini 2.
The FPV Combo and Motion Controller will be returned. Until Dji sort the software issues out I will not buy another item from them.

I have the same issue.

I can see the controller in Windows but it shows the info that there aren't drivers available for it.And it cannot be used in DRL.

I also updated the controller firmware to the current firmware version V01.01.0000 from 2021-03-01.

Dji PLEASE ! WHEN DE APK FLIGHT SIMULATOR FOR ANDROID I BOUGHT THE DJI FPV..

On the website of dji you can see at (FPV) downloads that they are apparently working on a version for Android. You now only see IOS devices, but underneath it is now a heading Android .... hopefully there will soon be an APK file here.

Very disappointed. Its really easy to adapt mobile apps across multiple platforms. Feels like strategic decision to deny ~50% users to learn manual mode and destroy their drones on first try. Shame

I've been instead playing Velocidrone on my gaming PC with the remote which is fine I guess but it doesn't properly mirror how the FPV actually handles and is instead based on high performance racing drones. So while I get a bit of experience with the way the sticks maneuver the drone, it's not even close to how the drone actually feels in M mode.

Please DJI, release android support!!
