Got it !  Great views. And straight away it dawns on me, I could be hovering a good bit lower from my panos. I've been at 50 metres and 100 metres. That tends to compromise detail at the nadir point.

Hi there. If it's not windy I'll go as low as 20m I've been using PTGUI which has some amazing new stitching abilities and just sorts those tricky seems.

It was - and it's still ongoing. There was a state of emergency with dozens of families evacuated for several weeks when it looked as though the dam was going to collapse. Fortunately the disaster was averted. But it will be another couple of years before the repairs are complete and the dam can be refilled.

I'll try a lower hover height next time it's calm. I use KOLOR Autopano Giga - which is now a free App for non-commercial use. Then FSP viewer to see the finished result.

Yes. I tried the free demo version of PTGUI, but the price of the paid version could not be justified for my casual use.

My FMC bought in Feb and also Nov 2021. I think they built a lot of stock as they thought about very high sales because of chip shortage but because of all issues they did not cleared it yet.
If they will fix GPS and ADB plus introduce new features, I don't think this year we will see a 3S model.
As for chip shortage in security market (CCTV) I'm working at one of the biggest producer and indeed some entry-mid chips are better but high end ones still big problem.

I remember good old days...  When computer companies made some of their own chips.  Especially chips put in computers for NoSuchAgency.   Now, it seems everybody off-shores to chip companies which off-shore their work too.

Yes I think I really will wait now. Talk of a Tele with 1" sensor as either a M3s or M4 almost makes it worth the wait, plus I'm guessing they will have nailed the GPS by then. I guess it's back to the Mini and Topaz Gigapixel until things are a bit clearer. Imagine how the M3 would have walked off the shelves if the 7x was quality and the GPS issue didn't exist. So so close by DJI

Thats gonna be hard if the 3S has to drop but if it does, there is not really much we can actually do. Dji will claim and upgraded drone is launched as part of their marketing strategy

On Amazon the standard and FMC have dropped $150, the Cine is still full price.

I checked the price in NZ today and it dropped by $501 for the FMC and standard package. These drones have lost value alot

Yeah, those prices are high for a mini but comparing it to the Autel Nano its on Par and with a better RC. I just hope the RC works with the M3 then I will get it.

Im erring towards the standard controller in the hope the RC Pro will be updated for it,   I like the extra buttons.    Although if the orginal smart controller was updated that would be sweet.

Discounted in Australia for "limited time" by $300 AUD. I think too that the price of the new drone was much higher than expected. I didn't have a drone at the time they came out, but when I saw it, I bought an Air 2S instead in the expectation of decent price reductions and feature/model upgrades in a couple fo years, when my Care Refresh runs out

indeed, I remember when Intel had like 6 fabs, AMD had 2 fabs not speaking about Ti, VIA, etc...now everything is about cutting production costs and increase profit with less and less quality in order to rotate the goods not to speak, where is made in Mexico, made in USA, made in Germany...

A mini 2 might be better, you could save some weight by dispensing with the top & bottom covers, the arms and possibly the motors.

Yes but the Air 2S hasn’t received any known issues, unlike the M3 bad press it's getting

With DJI releasing an “Added Increased the speed of searching GNSS” update, this is the admission of the known fault documented in a plethora of forums and YouTube videos.

In the UK ref Statutory Law, this could be classed as ‘unfit for purpose’ if DJI can’t sort this out, the drone isn't working as intended.

DJI has enough corporate lawyers on staff to know how to avoid any lawsuits over the M3 debacle.  Who knows, it may even be called the DJI 3S similar to what they did with the name change from Mavic Air 2 to DJI Air 2S.

I wouldn't count on it. Just because you pay some big law firms doesn't mean you will "avoid" lawsuits or settlements. Apple settles things plenty and they are hundreds of times bigger than DJI with plenty more money.

I probably should have worded my quickly typed comment a bit better before I hit reply.  Avoid should have read minimize.  

It is true that Apple settles lots of suits but that is mostly because they have infringed on valid patents.  Some large firms/corporations do not follow the legal advice of their General Counsel and that is what gets them into issues they could have avoided.

Yup, always the case of the next Big Thing out there. You can never keep up with technology but I am really surprised that the Mavic 3 is now being discounted for the 2nd time in its short life span. And for the thing that Dji is still sitting with stock since November is normally unheard off as their flagship products usually sellout very fast, it is either because of the high launch price, the missing features or the issues that this drone currently has.

Just saw an e-mail where the M3 sale price has been extended to April 30th at DroneNerds.  So the extra $150 off doesn't appear to be incentivizing many buyers.

True, if they change the name we have no recourse back to them.

$150 was never intended as a response to slow sales.  the promo was probably planned in 2021 and would have happened even if the m3 sales were stellar.  if the sales are not very good, they will plan a bigger sale later this summer.

Maybe but in NZ we never had a flagship drone reduced by $501 ever and that is how much it has reduced here. Dealers are still sitting with stock they bought in November and cannot move it including the RC Pro.

True... I remember when the MP2 came out there were big gaps in availability as stock sold out quickly. Everybody has M3 stock that I can see and even reading the China Forum users are still receiving November production models.

interesting, that's over $300US reduction so maybe that's a bit much but wasn't your price much higher than ours from the start?  there's prob more wiggle room.

Yeah, i Paid $4500 for the FMC but to drop such an amount has never happened to date. Normally you will see specials after a year on Flagship Dji drones.
