Yup. There are those that seem to think that a Wi fi Drone and an O2 etc are in some ways different. It is all in effect Frequency hopping 2.4 and or 5.8 Ghz Radio. WiFi is just a term that people associate with the internet. When of course it is just short range Radio on 2.4 and 5.8.
Heck even Bluetooth is just 2.4 Ghz of very low power.... with a few digital whistles and bells
Just because something is using 2.4 or 5.8, doesn't mean it's WiFi.
WiFi is a very specific use of the 2.4GHz and 5GHz(including 5.8) unlicensed frequency bands using its own RF modulation schemes. And it is almost exclusively used for carrying wireless 'internet' traffic. WiFi carries IP(Internet Protocol) messages at a lower messaging layer.
Do you not think a baby monitor using 2.4GHz is in some ways different from WiFi? |
