In thinking about it,  I think it feels a long way because Im thinking of how our roads work here,   for example I wouldn't dream of driving to Scotland 700km but the same distance to the south of France would be fine as those EU roads tend to be so much better than ours.

Here in Sweden, it is much slower too, but on the German and Dutch highways, you can cover some distance quickly.

Here we have variable speeds on the motorways and some days they just mess with you,  60 then 40 then 50 then 40 and then 70 and then 50 over less than a couple of miles,   and for absolutely no reason at all.  But if you go under the sign at the wrong speed you get a fine and points.

It really seems like they do it to catch you out though.    I came around London late one night,  road was almost empty but the speeds were all over the place.

Yeah, that was the plan.
But plans might change.
The kids really like it here and so do we.
And as they grow up, their 'demands' change too.
So they won't like going on a super active holiday (as I would envision going somewhere else).
Plus SWMBO her energy is still very low (and probably won't get much better), so having a relaxing holiday is also pleasant for her.
So we are not sure, but chances are we will be going 'there' again.

I'm sure they don't here in Sweden. they probably have strict rules (as they do for many things) that dictate what speed a road is 'capable' off.

They just love it in Tived, so that is worth a lot
