Please make the O3 unit work in full power without Flight Controller. It will greatly broaden the market for stand alone O3 units/Goggles to include thousands of RC fixed wing pilots.

We would like to use the O3 air unit in full power mode for our R&D vehicles. Therefore, it would be great to have this feature enabled.
For now, I will try to make it work with the Arduino workaround mentioned above.

DJI will probably never add that feature because they don't want people overheating and breaking the Air Units.  But you can easily make a device that sends an arm signal to the O3 Air Unit.  There are even projects already made to do this.

Yes, because it's way easier to build an Arduino project rather than sticking a 12V fan of top of the heatsink to blow some air on it, isn't it, DJI ?

But in all honesty, this is a small issue compared to others like half-baked support for OSD in INAV. The OSD on Walksnail looks like decades ahead the DJI made for the O3 unit. The worst bit is DJI just don't care....
