It was quite a bit bigger, but also raining heavily and I was not at the railwaystation yet, so I rushed there and got the dessert ;)

Well when somebody's heart stops you start Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR0 to get it going again.  So I was trying to say to add life to the channel there was a need to re-energize it.

Yes, but the reason I want less contrast is so that I can do tweaks in post
Not the other way around.
Since this contrasty footage can loose information in the ends of the spectrum quickly.

I learned many "how-to's" from a very experienced house painter years back.  I remember him saying always prep the material to be painted properly and then give each coat ample time to dry before applying any additional coats.

The parts I'm painting now won't be visible later (it's just to protect the wood), so it's not the most important job. But still, I want to do it well.
