Im surprised it goes down to ISO 50.    But thats good if it does.

It's the lowest setting on the Pro1.
That image I put up on IG looks terrible compared to the original.
JPEGging it was probably a mistake.

I'll post one on IG. I'd appreciate your observations.
Shot in RAW at ISO 50, f/8 and 0.25 sec exposure.
Converted to JPEG using G.I.M.P. as I'm not sure if IG accepts RAW images.

IG does accept raw,  raw is only good for processing into a jpg as it contains all the data the camera had available so you can pick and choose better what you want to see.

Found it,   looks like you captured the motion well,    Id experiement with longer shutter times,   maybe try up to f22 and you'll get a feel for what the camera will do.   Personally Id clone out that little bit of greenery in the bottom left,   but thats me.

When I tried to upload a RAW file, IG couldn't see it?
Maybe the .CRW extension that Canon use is not one that IG recognises?

f22?  Wow. The Pro1 only goes up to f8 so far as I can see.

Really,    Now I am surprised with that,   all my DSLR lens go to F22 and some as high as F30.     Does the Pro 1 have a thread at the end of the lens that you could use a ND filter on?

These were the settings for the original image.
At your suggestion, I then ran it through RawTherapee (without much understanding of what I was doing) and then cropped it a bit to remove the foreground foliage.

Yes there's a thread for attachments.   I have the lens hood attached to that.  The Pro1 had a built-in ND filter (upto 3 stops, apparently) which I haven't tried yet.

And here's the Ae range:

I think you should try those built in ND filters next and see what they do for you.

It's quite an unusual range that,  F2.4 is really good,  but F8 at the other end is a bit lacking,   but then you have the built in ND filters to elevate some of that issue.

Well, I did.  Rode the bus to the village where there's a nice little waterfall.
Set up the tripod and camera, fiddled about with the settings, took a couple of shots...
and down came the rain

Definitely. I was more worried about the camera than me. I was just ready to try out the ND filter setting as well.  Not sure how much it achieved. I needed longer to make comparison shots.

Thats still an impressive shot,    the motion is well captured and the whites in the water are good.

Two thoughts from someone that doesnt know the scene.

Is there an angle that you could get the bridge or other interest into the top half of the frame,
Have yuo considered b&w?

First, here is the un-zoomed shot:

Now a couple of other views - one from above the weir, and one looking the other way from the bridge.
A couple of quick screengrabs from an earlier visit with the Pocket2.
The area is a public viepoint and memorial garden. The river Sett then runs through private gardens and emerges on the other side of the main road, from which point you can't see the falls at all.

And I could certainly try again in B&W another time.

Yep. And the dabbling ducks come to peck your shoelaces if you don't bring them something.

The were orange slugs too, with brown spots.  They were great at killing off the usual black slugs which decimated the veg garden.  They kill 'em  by grawing a hole in the back of the head of the black ones.
And they're not a pest on the veg either.
