Well I'm off to the hobby store to pick up some parts for my Traxxas R/C cars and then head to the beach with them to have a little sand racing.

Give it time

The soil here is quite heavy clay so it takes a bit more to wash that away.

I did my best to enjoy the outing.  Unfortunately, I guess i over-stressed one of my Traxxas R/C cars as I broke an axle doing a high speed jump off the top of a sand dune.  I though the sand below was loose enough to cushion the landing....but I thought wrong.  Now back to the hobby shop again for more parts.

They've found an old culvert 2.8m down - below the gas and sewer mains, Can't figure out how to get around the problem. Specialist team needed - who are busy elsewhere

Oh yeah, every time I come into the store it puts a big smile on his face.    The owner is a great guy and he even gives me a military discount even though I'm retired.

There's no quick-fix, unfortunately.  It will take weeks rather than days.

I hope you don't refer the Ferraris as the cardboard cars, I understand when talking about the Trabants that way but surely not Ferraris. What I meant was that the drop of the quality in that change would be so shocking it is cruel to bring up the idea to the discussion

It was on a closed track, so I got the chance to tear up the track as hard as I wanted (and dared). After experiencing that amazing drive, returning to my Mondeo felt somewhat a bitter experience

Yes, however, he was what I term a shallow water sailor as he was in the US Coast Guard.  I always tease him that in the US Navy we go out away from the coast into the deep water.    Just a little friendly ribbing going on is all.
