When i purchased my MA2 in early 2020 there was no way I was going to risk crashing and having no recourse for repair. My experiences with DJI Care refresh have been excellent. I probably would not have my drone now, if it wasn't for care refresh.  The "international limitation" is definitely understandable.

I bought my Avata 2 on the day of the release at a physical store in Mexico, and the guy there told me they didn't have Care Refresh for the Avata 2 at that moment, so I wanted to buy it but couldn't :/

I also bought one drone from local store and without Care Refresh (they didn't sold it) but I bought it online, from DJI EU store. Within 2 days from activation. Or later, but then you have to send video proof that it still works.

Hey, at least you had the proof and that's what allowed to get back up and fly.
