My return period ends on the 3rd of July. It's a shame that DJI is forcing my hand to refund the drone because everything else about the drone is great (except battery life battery life is pretty bad, getting 20 mins at best)

That is very good battery duration. No one is forcing your hand it is your decision. People need to take responsibility for their own decisions and not blame others

20 minutes is a far far cry from 34 minutes, especially when it's 20 minutes in little to no wind. I get basically the same battery life as a mini 2

Is the battery life of the Mini 2 not just a couple of minutes short of mini 3, but you have many more features on the mini 3 sucking up your power including the power it flies at.

How on earth did you crash it into the water

I was on my boat I tried to land in my hand and it freaked out when it got near my wake tower ended up just splashing in the water and that was enough to break the sensors.

but they are aware and they are working on it.  while they cannot come out and say it, this is good enough since they listed the issue as addressed in the release notes.  clearly they still have more work to do and to be honest, it might take dji one or two more tries.  remember the mavic 3?  imo, the mini 3 team is more capable and more responsive and we've already had more sw updates in a few short months than most other dji drones.  i have every faith they will fully resolve this issue before the end of next month, after all, drones are now being sold at amazon and best buy so returns are going to get real for dji if there is truly a problem.

I guess the best thing for me is just to return this and stick with the mini 2 for the time being, and maybe get the air3 if it comes out later.

It's such a shame because the mini 3 is so good in every other way. I'm literally asking DJI to take my money and they don't want to lol

So I just got off the phone with DJI support and they basically told me signal issues are not a common problem and only a handful of people are experiencing them at the moment.

They said that any signal issues had been fixed with the latest update and recommended that I return the drone if I'm not satisfied.

What a joke company lol

i agree with dji it appears only a few people have the problem and probably for even less people, the sw update affects them positively; however, i also agree that some people are still having an issue with the signal.  this reminds me of gpsgate on the mavic 3....which was eventually and ultimately "resolved."

I already did what you did as i had the mini 2 and i can tell you that the mini 2 is 4 times more reception i live in Vancouver and even with all the interference it holds full bars at 2.5
First issue some people in Canada and USA still are having is signal range:
I have here both the Mini 2 and the Mini 3 the Mini two signal is unbelievably superior to the Mini 3 pro I have tested both same flight patterns and, same height but the distance the Mini 3 pro could push was close to 400 m before rth was activated.
the mini 2 however surpassed that by three to four times the distance at 2.5 km in the city!

The second issue:
There frequency line/option in the transmission tab. In my mini 2, I can switch frequency and change channel mode from manual to auto. The mini 3 is locked to one channel at 2.4 ghz or stuck only at 5 ghz for some. There is no frequency line/option on this menu.




Called DJI several times today hoping to speak to someone knowledgeable and got the same answer " We will be coming up with a new FW and hopefully fix your issue within the month" no time as to when that will be.
They said i should contact support@dji.com which i did and let them know the issues. Support got back saying they need a few days for engineers to go over the issue and get back to me.
No tricks like holding tin foild or your hand over the mini 3 to "trick" it into FCC works its all bull.

Yeah...I just sent mine in to DJI repair for the range issue. Im only getting 500-800M in an urban setting up against the hills in the SF South Bay. It will be interesting to see what they come back with. Its seems other folks are finally getting some responses from DJI repair acknowledging there's a problem and that they believe it will be resolved via firmware update. This is my second mini3 pro as the first one dramatically missed its RTH landing(yes it was set right) and bounced off the side of a building before I could stop it. I used my DJI Express Care to replace it. We will see... Sure would be nice to get this all finally/really resolved.

They should use the Ocusync 3 from the DJI FPV but I think even with that it has issues which is why it keeps stopping in mid-air in Sports mode.

The US supplier ban on DJI makes workarounds appear like this. In drones, it should be 100% reliable and all companies should be working together to make it perform as best as possible. If it weren't for the sanctions, money is pumped in infinitely and still sanctions exist. If everyone collaborated together at least in certain areas of business such as drones, it would be super "bulletproof". The workarounds are what destroys things from working properly and becomes a safety issue in which people would gravitate towards = The real "envy" shouldn't be the riches of this world but the envy of those resting in a peaceful afterlife due to people dying or getting seriously injured as improper engineer always leads towards that.

All of us have yet to possibly encounter big problems either from WW3 or not. Workaround engineerings are what not to do if possible but they have to in order to keep the infinite money flowing peacefully.

Some people of course, may never ever lose their minds which is great but there will always be those that will lose their minds who haven't yet. Still though, there are so many possible issues that none of us can prepare for but the closer we can get towards adaptive preparation the better.

Make sure you let them also know about the:
1.transfer speed to your phone with the "fast transfer" option on and speed of up to 2Mbps instead of the 64Mbps max speed.
The mini 2 was doing 30Mbps

2. Range cutting off at 300m

3. Mastershot music and video do not sync

4. No frequency tab

5. Maps don't work

Small other issues that would for sure be fixed in FW updates but the main ones are these

I’ve been working with DJI extensively on this issue and with the latest round of debug logs I sent, I got confirmation that their engineers found the cause of this issue and will be releasing a firmware within the next 2 weeks to directly address this CE/FCC issue.

I’ll post here once I’ve confirmed this issue is resolved

I waited almost 6 months for DJI to fix the satellite acquisition problem with my Mavic 3 and don't feel like possibly waiting almost as long with the Mini 3 Pro that I finally got from B&H Photo on July 2nd. I inquired with B&H photo about me wanting to either return for a full refund for my Mini 3 or replacing unit with one that works. This is B&H response.

I think what they told you is true. I don’t think it is them that is the issue
