Hi, just wanna add my 2 bits and balance out all the negativity :-)

Without the certification we basically default to "home made over 250g" (equals C4).

So A3 it is, but so what? After chilling out for a moment, I'm surprisingly okay with that.
Sure, I live in the capital, and finding 300m of free space around me is a challenge, but
I can open a map and go outside, look for A3 places.

Inconvenient and impossible are 2 different things!

A sad fact that Avata is now being kind of misadvertised for the entirety of the EU, and effectively already half obsolete, but that won't stop me trying to have my fun with it.

And I'm saying you should too! It's still a super fun small thing that can offer you a lot.

Hell, if I find a friend I'm up to rent a school gym or something so we could fly easy.

The regulation for drone classification labels are now fully in effect. I was ready to pick up the avata today, but if A3 is the only category I can fly in, it kind of defeats the purpose of getting it. As a videographer and drone fan, I would love to fly the Avata, however until we can get an answer and hopefully soon a solution, the best thing I can do is follow is forum and hope for DJI to reply.

An official statement from DJI would be nice. Why the radio silence? This is not a good customer support.

I guess we could say that the FPV series has been abandoned by DJI. There is no updates and support for it anymore.

I don't think Avata can have C1 certification, because it is many noise

https://eudroneport.com/blog/sound-power-drones/

and maximum speed greater than 19m/s

https://eudroneport.com/blog/maximum-speed-drone/

same problem for old DJI drones

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. Regretfully, we cannot apply for the Cx certification for the DJI Avata. However, you can fly it in the A3 environment. We appreciate your understanding and support.

I understand that since there has been no response from DJI so far regarding class assignment, there is nothing to count on, especially as DJI Avata 2 is coming out and, according to leaks, will have a class C1, which means for us that the first Avata has been abandoned and if we want to fly in the city we have to spend money again and buy a new model. Thank you DJI for thinking about the pilots of FPV and AVATA series, thank you very much even matrice 30t (weight 4 kg) received a class C2 and we have a C4 super and hardly anyone can afford to fly it for fun.

I won't say more, do what you think is right with this information:

If the AVATA 2 is truly C1 certified, then it will necessarily be limited to 19m/s maximum in Europe.

That wasn't my question.
In my country yes the avata falls into this category. As soon as you put on FPV goggles, A3 is mandatory.

Avata 2 (have c1 label), why not original avata have to c1 label?

If the Avata 2 is really C1, and if it is not possible to declassify it (break the speed limit), you can already prepare the following thread:
-Avata 2 disappointed by the maximum speed in Europe stuck at 19m/s
-Avata 2 How to hack firmware ?

We have to put things in their place, a drone such as an Avata is a thing for flying FPV, that's a first thing, but also for flying fun with a certain speed which exceeds that of more standard drones.
Suffice to say that this is not the kind of activities that is done in an environment with people, homes, etc.
A C2 or C3 classification would be more optimal just for this question of maximum speed.

So why people are continuing to claim C1 ?  For the pleasure of later being able to open a thread and complain about the speed restriction ?

If you're not convinced, check out the Air 3 page for example:

Why not normal mode and sport mode c1, manual mode a3?

Because that's not how it happens.  C1 imposes 19m/s max whatever the flight mode.

so to conclude, avata 2 is not really usable in EU :/
if You would use it for cinewhooping a property, or some persons, or anything related - U will not be able to do it under A3 :/ as there is distance to buildings/persons

Better a legacy drone without speed limit, than a C1 limited to 19m/s like the Avata 2. Let the C1 label for a future sub 250g FPV model
