Hey - is there any kind of simulator app for the Air 2? This is my first drone and I want to fly virtually a bit before taking it up in the air. I know they exist for other products - any idea if they do for this one too?

Is it possible to change DJI Fly language? I have now Italian and want to switch to English (android device)

If you use the iphone app, just go to Profile/Settings/Language option.

One question. Does the DJI Smart controller work with the Mavic 2?

Mavic 2 or Mavic Air 2?
I think the Mavic Air 2 is having support added in a future firmware update.

Yes the Smart Controller works with the Mavic 2.
DJI stated that  it would support the Mavic Air 2, but when is 'THE FUTURE' coming?

Is the battery charger for the Mavic Air 2  110 - 220 volt, 50-60 hz?  I plan to travel with this once coronavirus is under control and may be in countries that use 220 volt, 50 hz.

Thanks for any reply!

Best regards,

Hi all,

Maybe a silly question, but if I have a US Mavic Air 2, can I use/operate this drone in Europe without any problem or issues?

It's a very good question!  Europe has very strict rules on drones but varies according to country.  In Belgium the maximum altitude at which you can fly a drone is 33 foot (10 meter).  To fly higher one must take courses and get certified and it is neither easy nor cheap.  (One can fly at a radio-controlled airfield but one has to become a member, usually about $100/year, and this means you always fly over the exact same area).

Again, some countries are different -- see this general video:  https://dronerules.eu/en/recreational

(It is very general and does not give country specific details).

Here is a site for Belgium -- https://dronerules.eu/en/profess ... only%20allowed%20to,drone%20below%2010%20meters%20altitude

Flying at a maximum of 10 meters over your own property…  not really what you probably want to do!  I'll try to get more information and re-post.

Best regards,

Steve Schulte

Thanks for your quick reply and info.

I know that drone-rules varies from country to country.
But there cant be any difference to use/operate between a US Mavic Air 2 and a EUROPE Mavic Air 2, as long as you follow the area/nation drone-rules? Please correct me if I am wrong here.

Thanks and kind regards

Hello

I have the mavic 2 Zoom and was looking after the air 2.
I am a bit surprise about the size of the remote, way bigger than its big brother. As I am backpacking a lot, this will maybe not fit my needs.
QUESTION: is there a way to use my remote of my mavic 2 zoom with the air 2?

And just a note:, a bit disappointed that DJI google might not be used as well with the AIR 2.

Hello! Does anyone knows, what's the maximum distance you can set up on QUICKSHOTS? On my MAVIC PLATINUM the pre-set distance is 60 meters (ie 180ft), and you can adjust it to a maximum of 200 meters (600ft)

The mavic air 2 and the mini both use the same app - DJI Fly.

Will the Mini fly with the Air 2 controller ?

Active track does not work on my Mavic Air 2. When I select a person it doesn't detect. I can't use anything that has to do with following people or vehicles, the drone just can't detect it. I'm shooting in 4k at 30fps and I've tried 25fps at 24 fps and nothing. I am awake because I bought the Drone to work and the Active track does not work. I need to be told how to solve this problem as soon as possible. Thank you

Finally saved up enough to get my fly more combo from Heliguy in the UK (definitely recommend them by the way - https://www.heliguy.com/mavic-air-2-fly-more-combo-p6749)

Can't wait to take it out this weekend!

I know they just increased the max transmission limits on the Mavic 2 via a firmware update - does anyone know if it's likely to happen with the Air 2 as well at some point?

It'll be compatible with the Smart Controler in 2 weeks (according to DJI)

I think I am like you, I will wait for the Mavic 3.

Two weeks have come and gone.  Still no compatibility with the Mavic Air 2 and the Smart Controller.

Yes, they even have become almost 3 months now. It's really annoying.

I just purchased the mavic air 2, and i also purchased the dji fpv googles.  While purchasing and being new to drones i tried reading as much as i could... now that i have them i found out that they are not compatable. My son owns the phantom 3 se. And i guess that is uncompatable also. I have 2 questions

1. What drone would you suggest to have for the googles?
2. Is there a recommended set of googles for the mavic air
         2?

Mavic Air 2 is the coolest drone I have seen from DJI that is somewhat affordable compared to the Pro and the Zoom.

No, you can't. the option isn't there. The app is up-to-date & as the poster said the option to turn phone charging on or off can't be found. I think I've seen the same video mentioned because as also stated there are only 2 options available to program the function button whereas the video shows more. I'm guessing there are different versions of the DJI Fly app here in the UK.

It's not the function button you're looking for.  it's another option under the Control menu,

Hi, Gijs4. Please accept my sincere apologies for the problem. I didn't make it clear. Mavic air 2 only supports Waypoint as a sub-mode of the Hyperlapse. The aircraft automatically takes photos on a flight path of two to five waypoints and generates a timelapse video. There's no Waypoints function like Mavic 2.

DJI just needs to either omit "waypoints" from your marketing for the MA2 or make good and add the feature.  You guys sure fooled me.  No where does it say they are omitting the feature that the first Air had.  Bait and switch.  Poor marketing to play the buyer beware game with customers by crippling a feature that everyone expects just to try and create an artificial delineation cash grab between the MA2 and Pro.

The first air had waypoints.  Imagine buying a new iPhone and finding out they disabled the camera in software.  The documentation said camera.  That's why I feel CHEATED!
