Hi, there!
Since your aircraft is a demo aircraft, it is possible that you have not switched to normal mode. You could use the app to change the mode, "Profile">Headset logo in the upper right corner>"Store demonstration">"Demo aircraft mode", then you could change the mode.

Got my new drone delivered yesterday. Tried activating the controller and got the same server error. Have arranged for a return pickup today. Hopefully they fix the issue and give back a working controller in return. Just surprised to see that they're still shipping faulty products without a proper quality check even though so many users have been facing this issue from past 3 weeks. There is no mention of this issue anywhere else other than this forum which is quite surprising.

I have a brand new Honor 90 smart phone with Android 14. Do you think that there is a incompatiibility between this phone with Android 14 and DJI Fly app concerning the activation? I don't have any other phone with another version of Android to test it and see if the  action popup to activate appears... Can you ask the software programmers of DJI to know their opinion? Thanks.

Let me get this straight - the first person to post about this problem was over three years ago, and this still an ongoing issue?  I just bought a Mini Pro 4 and have the same activation issue.  I'm frankly appalled that DJI would continue to pump these things out into the world when so many have to be returned to be "repaired".  I'll be returning mine alright, for a full refund and I'll buy another brand.

I've spoken to them an chat and phone. Unfortunately it has to be send to Netherlands for a replacement. You can provide your holiday destination address if you leaving in few days like me. You can create a replacement case yourself or through a chat like I did. It is what it is now. So quicker you act now, quicker will have it back. And it's a brand new unit not refurbished. I think it a next day delivery but so far I wait for a label to be emailed, but that's what they said.

Did they return the remote the next day? How lond did it take from the day you sent back?

I send mine in on 29. Juli. Haven't got any info on how long it will take. I buyed it via amazon so it might take longer.
I really hope I get it back in the next couple weeks.

Does anyone know/can say on how long the repair is expected to take?

On August 12, 2024, I purchased the DJI Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo Plus from Amazon Canada. Unfortunately, I encountered a recurring error (Error code: Server error (-2). Check and try again. Contact DJI Support if the issue persists). Despite attempting to update the firmware to the latest version (V02.02.0300), the problem persists.

I also bought a second unit from Amazon.ca, but it has the same issue. Given these repeated problems, I plan to request a refund for both purchases.

Well, like many, most of you have just posted about the issue.

I will make the following statement of facts.

2. I uploaded proof of purchased, where it was purchased
3. I included screenshots of proof
4. I included screenshots of the issue
5. With brief details about this know issue.

Please note, I'm In the UK and DJI 4 Mini Pro was purchased on Amazon

I submitted it, waited and got back a reply & was emailed a Royal Mail tracking postage paid label to send the RC2 controller Back.

This will be on the Saturday 24 August that I send back, In the UK one of the DJI centres is in Nottingham.

I will try my best to give updates as they happen (As I see no one here has actually said, "Yep all fine, I sent off and got a free replacement RC2 controller and all is ok"

If this does not provide a solution, I will, what I was initially going to do and the whole package back to Amazon for a full refund. However, I thought doing it this way was worth a go.

Yes, I am really annoyed, but let's see how it goes.


Anyone else has had success from retuning & replace, please let us all know.

I figured out another way to update firmware through download DJI assistant 2 software from DJI site. Another Update and Completion of brand New RC 2 Controller

My Original DJI Mini 4 pro Combi kit (All Items)
Brand New RC 2 Controller

Everything is working absolutely fine

Thank you to DJI and a lovely phone call yesterday to inform me of everything that they had done and also Product return info.

So I guess in my case persistence pays, plus it only took a week to solve my issue here in UK.

As I was nearly going to send it Back to Amazon for a refund, however, I thought it worth giving DJI a chance to correct the fault. They passed.

I hope my situation will help others decide the path to take with this particular issue

Update!
I got a working controller back within a week's time. It's all fine now and I'm able to fly the drone. Their repair response was good.

After reading all the issues with activation I was kinda scared to buy the Mini 4 pro Fly more set from Amazon. Ordered anyway but all good. Activation with no issue. Maybe the "bad Batch" is gone now. Ordered from Amazon Germany
