There's a note in the DJI App that says that the phone must connect to data in order for the Spark to fly normally.
I'm hoping to take this into the mountains, where there will be no data connection (nor perhaps GPS connection at all times, depending on location)


Does that mean that the Spark can't be used for that? Is there any way to fly in remote areas without being limited by network data limitations??

It seems silly to always have to connect, especially given the whole point of this product, so I can't imagine that's what DJI actually means...

You only need the internet connection during the activation process.  After that it will work without a network connection.  I have tested it.

Spark, is not exempt from this process, worth, a flight limited to a maximum 30 meters height and 50 meters away from the controller.

DJI, can you confirm? That seems absurd to limit to 30 and 50 m in the wilderness -- it defeats the whole purpose of a drone.

Oh sorry you just only need to login once with data connection with the latest firmware and software update.
