Hello All Spark owners
Okay I have ben flying my Spark all weekend and found that the remote (RC) works very nicely with the new drone. Also, the device / mobile works very well in closer.
Like most other DJI drones you can go into the transmission tab of the Go 4 App and change channels or signal strength. I have found the Spark is somewhat limited and you can change the channels from 2 - 10 2.4G only
When you are looking at the channel index bar 2 thru 10 and find a clear one, tap and hold the channel number below the signal graph. A pop up will ask you to confirm the change and restart the Wi-Fi.... meaning you will need to open up the mobile device settings and reconnect to the Spark. screen shots below.. PIB to loose connection with your device everytime you want to change something. Clearly only using the Wi-Fi radio technology only and don't get me wrong it works great so far.... It works the same when only connected to the mobile device too.
Using iPhone 7 iOS 10
What I could not find, is how can you change to 5.8G? I have tapped and held the 2.4G button without any change. I can not find it anywhere.
I contacted DJI Support about this. It appears that the iOS version of DJI Go 4 may have a bug that prevents 5.8ghz mode. I downloaded the app on a spare Android device I had and it allows the switch to 5.8Ghz mode there. So, hopefully, the app update that DJI announced would be available this week fixes that issue. I'm having issues with my AppleWatch interfering with the controller transmissions so I would like to use 5.8Ghz instead of 2.4.

Thanks for the update and information! It seem logical that the 2.4G button should allow you to change the frequency. I would like to use the 5.8G for clear signal in my area too. I have lost the RC signal a few times while using the RC remote and it wasn't long enough to start a RTH...

Still waiting for an answer on this. I just switched to an ipad mini and while setting it up, I had both choices, and then somehow I only have 2.4 now with 5.8 completely gone. WHY? Tried with wifi, with OTG, nothing makes it change back.
I hope this is sorted, I just went and sold my to android tablets and bought an Ipad mini because the android devices I had would not work with the 5G8 channels that the spark uses
I haven't tried the app on the Ipad mini yet !!!!
I will be proper pi**ed if I still cant use 5G8 as I have now spent over £300 buying tablets
the 5.8 GHz channels used by Spark are the 149 to 161. In Europe those channels have been allowed by Europeean regulation only starting from 2014. I don't know when they were allowed by FCC (but they are now)
The band is sometimes called "SRD" for short range devices
The implementation deadline by member countries was set to July 1st 2014 but some countries still no allwo them in their actuel "country level" laws also the "european level law" tell they should.
(e.g. in France, those channels are not officially approuved by our national agency yet, it is the same in Great Britain)
the latest version to date of the regulatory database used in linux systems (and android uses them) is :
